:saints: The Saints Summer Prediction Thread

But Hart plays (or not as the case may be) for West Ham. Also not a big club. He’ll never play for City again will he.

There’s a BBC article here that weighs up the pros and cons of the players currently in the 35 man squad, this is what they have to say about the wing backs

Should Walker move to centre-back, that is likely to open up the right wing-back position for Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier, who has covered more ground per game in the Premier League than any of his rivals this season and also fares well when it comes to crosses made.

The left side throws up more options, though, with Manchester City’s Fabian Delph registering the best pass completion rate and highest number of completed dribbles.

Spurs’ Danny Rose has barely featured this term, leaving Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand and Manchester United’s Ashley Young as the other likely contenders.

Bertrand has made 100 crosses this season, the highest on the list, but Young also ranks high for crosses, as well as when it comes to completed dribbles.

We’ve made a lot of mistakes. Maybe trying to be arrogant to push on, dropping the Southampton Way of developing players. Judge us on our reactions.

Lot of clear answers in there so far. Tried to be too clever says Adam, being really honest.

Look at the bigger picture, there is logic to what we did but we missed. The fact Sparky’s team fit is a sign of the good core foundations, they fit right into all the backroom team etc.

Fate was involved had 12 hours to decide who to bring in we are in conversation with Mark right now. Speed is much quicker now transfer window is near so everything sped up goes into manager decisions have positive momentum we went at it yesterday morning alread (with Sparky)

How much influence does Sparky have on signings? HE as every manager is part of the team but brings deeper knowledge base than previous 4 managers - what opposition can do Mark is Top Drawer and definitely will be integral part of the recruitment.

Of course play an important role.

Gao going forward? Scary 1st year for them. They were outstanding watched every game even when in China. Supportive. Fans Team Staff & Ownership showed character. Need to operate in our means Ownership allows us to reinvest player trading no matter what

Asian market waiting for us to pounce on fundamentals are in place Under Armour big part of that as they expand into China.

Allowing Operational Level to work in it’s means ready to attack the new season.

100% in the best league hardest league to get into. 8 teams could have gone down all clubs trying to improve more than anything reckonise building on connection with the fans - Fans Forum pre mid and end of season.More comms and transparency.

Adam comes back with financial investment in the team :lou_facepalm_2:

Distracted by branding - Ralph agrees 1st and foremost outstanding at home ambition distracted us before as we looked global core is here in SMS and we need to focus on that FIRST need to be great

Totally didn’t answer the question.

That means sign players to develop again no more ready made big signings. imho

#wemarchon is hollow Sparky brought the style back.

Arsenal & Chelse defined what we should be and how we should play we had fun despite losing.

Draws are unacceptable lack of ambition on the pitch not playing to win in the EPL take the odd loss playing on toes than falling on back.

Les? EPL Job? Is he staying? Management Team is in place lots of conversations, do not want to say everything will stay the same we will use this and learn from it our knowledge base has gone up. We will be better. Don’t want to change, Leadership on the final product is now perfect

41 Scouts in Europe. We take responsibility we are not happy we won’t go into summer saying back to usual.

Bllimey

Good interview EXCEPT Playing funds comments on that later

Prediction

Did NOT say Les will stay.

DID say took eye off the ball and the Southampton Way - Sadio Mane is what we were about.

So expect to sell players but re-invest in players with hunger.

It wasn’t too bad, he almost said sorry

I don’t reckon Les will be going anywhere.

Why do supporters still have an expectation that players show loyalty?

Loyalty is an outdated concept especially in Premier League Football. Loyalty is job security for the journeyman not a reality for the talented aspiring young footballer. Loyalty is bought by the higest bidder for as long as the player hits epectations.

We are what we are…an aspiring top 10 Premier League club who target talented aspiring young footballers. We buy, develop and if all goes well, sell at a whopping profit. I can’t see that changing.

Ooh

Hush your pretty mouth boy.

Wasn’t too bad? Twas a gut full of spiell.

See that’s the great bit. :lou_lol:

IF you’ve worked on a factory floor all your life it eant one thing.

IF you worked in an office it meant something a bit different.

IF you worked most of your life for American Multinationals it actually was crystal clear. :lou_eyes_to_sky:

So, The Northam will be going cnut.

The Chapel will be going yeah but what about the transfer budget and sacking Les.

I heard.

They are looking at the big picture - clear as day.

Predicting what that meant?

In American Speak

The Leadership of a Globally Focused Sports and Entertainment Corporation requires Leadership Skills to achieve the ambitions of and returns to the Shareholders.

That Leadership must appoint the BEST available staff at every level of the organisation, from Marketing through Sales, through Revenue Developement oh and we forgot - that bit on the football pitch.

The Leadership took their eye off the ball. They were porr in their execution of communication. They were focused in their own core silos and failed to notice the trends that were impacting upon the performance of the business.

Translate - They were so busy growing in America and China they fucked everything up by leaving Les in charge of the core product.

Corporate Speak

The Leadership need to learn lessons and take a high level view.

Translate We need to find out 1) Who was really to blame and what decisions were made that must never be made again and 2) (and he all but said this) With EVVERY coach we have employed since promotion they were NEW to English Football. Therefore their knowledge was limited. Therefore Les and Ross were THE GO TO SOURCE OF FOOTBALL KNOWLEDGE IN THE CLUB.

Now. High Level…

IF Sparky signs the contract HE will fill that knowledge role. SO as a High Level Leadership View…

Ergo do we need Les? Ergo Les has had his wings clipped Ergo he will fark off. But The Leadership is happy with that as Sparky can fill that hole while they find a new Leadership Member with knowledge in the OTHER places where Sparky/Les were weak

Wouldn’t have predicted Bertrand would be dropped from the WC Squad!

Yeah you would. It may be his saving grace. He moves on, proves himself at a big club (twisting Freddies word’s a little) captains the next euros, a valiant effort at the quarters and then leads England to the next world cup finals.

I would. He was garbage this season.

The stars are aligning…

Morocco may as well throw in the towel now. According to the Boof warriors on the sfc fb accounts he is their best player and we’d have hit the top six if only he’d played every game
