Levy’s pound of flesh probably included a clause that Poch can’t manage another PL club before his 80th birthday.

judging how it has gone recently i think it will be Thomas Frank. 2nd season curse.

Have just spoken to the step father of the Director of football at Brentford who assures me even if Brentford are in the relegation season from day 1 they will not sack him.

Brentford are also not happy with Erickson going to Man Utd. They expected him to sign for one more season and feel let down by him after they gave him an in back to the Premier league.

Parker gone :-

AFC Bournemouth can announce that the club has parted company with head coach Scott Parker.

Maxim Demin said: ā€œI would like to place on record my gratitude to Scott and his team for their efforts during their time with us. Our promotion back to the Premier League last season under his tenure will always be remembered as one of the most successful seasons in our history.

ā€œHowever, in order for us to keep progressing as a team and a Club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably. We must also show belief in and respect for one another. That is the approach that has brought this club so much success in recent history, and one that we will not veer from now. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately.ā€

Gary O’Neil will take interim charge of the team, and will be assisted by Shaun Cooper and Tommy Elphick.

Strangely someone was telling me in the pub last night that not all is rosy at Dean Court

Four games in (and they won one)!

So what? No club could retain the manager once they’d endured a 9-0 beating, could they. Obviously he had to go. :unamused:

Yeah, this is basically what I was told as well :-

I’m shocked by the timing and that it’s come after the score-line against Liverpool and before the end of the transfer window.

But when you look back at how the Cherries got to this position I’m not wholly surprised to be honest. I’ve been slightly aware of a disconnect behind the scenes between Scott Parker and the owner and how much they were willing to invest in the club.

I’m not sure Parker helped himself with some of his comments and keeping highlighting the teams shortcomings. The initial reaction from people outside of Bournemouth will be that it’s the 9-0 loss to Liverpool which has got him sacked.

But it goes deeper than that, the board are pretty happy with three points from their first four very tough games in the Premier League, it’s more the fact that Parker has been publicly critical of the players and the board as well.

The last few weeks he’s effectively been telling his players they aren’t good enough and the board doesn’t like that.

I heard his interview early this morning and thought it was strange hearing him say, ā€œthe team isn’t equipped to compete in the Premier Leagueā€
I’ve never heard Ralph say anything like that…even after two 9 - 0.

Seems Bournemouth have started a trend :-

If that’s how he views it, I don’t see why he shouldn’t say so. Maybe the board led him to believe when he took the job that they’d invest more heavily than they actually have, and he’s not happy about it.
