Harry’s claim of being cut off financially is a little suspect too. His father provided money to both him and his brother to help cover the costs of the office and staff needed by someone performing royal duties. Harry stepped back stating they wanted to be financially independent so his father stopped subsidising his office as it was not needed. Neither Harry nor Meghan were hard up so to claim he was financially cut off as if he was broke is a little disingenuous

He inherited a great deal of money from his mother’s estate. She was already wealthy from her acting career. They have very rich friends who seem happy to help them out. I don’t think we shall be seeing them sleeping in bus shelters any time soon.
I thought they just wanted security detail. As he is (ex) Royal family, and it wasn’t his fault he was born into and then exploited by the family, they should have their future security detail paid for by the Royal Family.
The also wanted to mince about the world as they pleased which was going to at least double the cost of that detail - funnily enough they were less keen on paying the difference.
Not many members of the extended Royal family get security details, Edward and Anne only get it when on official business, their children don’t get any (since 2011) as they’re not “working” Royals.
Why Harry thinks that Archive is a special case and deserves security I don’t know, especially now they’re not “working” royals.
Because Anne and Edward aren’t anywhere near as famous as Harry.

I don’t see why they shouldn’t get it, or at least to a certain level. Agree on paying the difference if they are gallivanting around the World. Maybe domestic?
She was famous before she met Harry, did she have security then?

Not particularly famous. You’d have known who she is before if you watch Suits, but she wasn’t Hollywood glitterati, far from it.
