I’d agree with all you wrote about The Man too. It is a tough job, and he’s built an amazing, if occasionally dysfunctional community, but I can’t escape the feeling that he turned to Twitter to share his thoughts on Saints, and that the forum has been left to go to seed. I had a couple of PMs with him about accessing the forum data via Tapatalk and he was good as gold.
I’d never really seen myself as a trouble maker, and so when I respectfully asked a question about the circumstances around pap’s banning only to have it ignored, I lost a little personal respect for The Man. He instead dropped teasers to other posters.
I’m sure he feels (perhaps rightly for TSW) that he can’t start to discuss the circumstances of a banning with people as it would only serve to expose decisions made in haste or anger for what they were. For what it’s worth I can see things that pap has done that might lead to sanctions, extreme ones even, but as you say, without any insight it just feels unfair.
This just made me feel disenfranchised by proxy. Pap, one of my forum mates was gone, under circumstances that nobody clearly understands, where nobody is prepared to answer polite enquiries, and against a backdrop where pap has been allowed to be mercilessly kicked around TSW for years - without bitching or moaning to the mods. The worst you could say about pap is that he met fire with fire - oh and he believes Elvis is still alive.
Moving here was really just a way to stay in touch with pap. I truly can’t believe how far it’s come. We’re also discussing some smart ways to get social media and news injected into discussions that I think will improve the football chat too. But I’ll still probably pop over to TSW to see what’s being discussed re Saints.
I’ll be a registered member when my fiver runs out. I will continue to look there, and post when I feel like it, but I won’t be needing any more than three posts a day.
For most women power (and money) is an aphrodisiac isnt it Lou?
I wouldn’t know SOG. How can anyone know what most women want without doing an extensive survey and counting up the results. It would be more accurate to say:
The Daily Mail thinks for most women power (and money), is an aphrodisiac.
To which I’d respond - I know, what a bunch of tossers they are!
Aside from my joke with Bletch, my aphrodisiacs are: laughter, intelligence, and kindness.

I’ve cancelled my auto payment in Paypal so it doesn’t get renewed again.
Tokes the whole ‘not really wanting muppet show type posters’ concept is an amusing one. I made a proposal to Steve and Baj a couple of years ago about creating a seperate muppet area into a seperate forum, but one that was linked from TSW, so it would be a ‘little brother’ type forum, running alongside the main forum, but taking away the responsability from the main forum, but Steve was having none of it, he doesn’t want to bother with the muppet/Lounge areas, but doesn’t want to let them go either.
The whole stats quoting is also amusing as statically that’s not the first time that when someone questions that forum, there’s a comeback about increased use of the forum!
