France not really onboard with Theresa’s take.

You can call your detractors conspiracy theorists, sympathisers or whatever, Theresa May.

But when one of your closest allies essentially says you’re talking shit, the world knows you’re talking shit, no matter what soap opera cum spy thriller you get the BBC to puke up.

Interesting read Pap.

I find it a bit shit that many opposition MPs are agreeing with May’s story - as the opposition they should be questioning the “facts” at every opportunity to ensure the truth is told, not some version of the truth manufactured somewhere in Whitehall

Think it was seventy five.

That’s a long way short of 172, the number that launched the chicken coup, and isn’t a majority anymore.

For the dyed-in-the-wool Corbyn supporter, that’s progress :lou_wink_2:

I have to say I liked Corbyn’s questions to the PM. It’s hardly unreasonable to ask about what proof we have of Russian involvement, how conclusive it is, whether or not we intend to respond to Russia’s request for a sample of the nerve agent, and why we haven’t given Russia ten days to respond, as the convention on chemical weapons specifies.

While I certainly wouldn’t rule out Russian involvement, and I realise that they’ll deny everything no matter what, I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that this was a Russian act without some solid evidence to that effect. Which is pretty much what Emanuel Macron appears to have said.

An act of genius by May?

How many will die across Europe IF the Gas is turned off in a Cold Spell?

You’re getting warm Phil. It’s pipeline politics.

“Last week, the US-led political campaign to scupper the Russia-EU Nord Stream 2 project was given renewed impetus.”

No coincidence that as the Syrian situation nears a resolution which gives Russia a pipeline route to the Med and at the same time Turkey starts to look away from Europe that all these games start popping up.

The stupidity is that they decide to grab a Bear by the tail with not a single card in their hands and knowing their opponent holds a Royal Flush.

Interesting that the Fail article mentions the closure of UK storage facilities. So, if people die, or services and manufacturing are adversely affected if gas supplies are disrupted will the Govt admit culpability for being so short sighted?

I suspect they’d use it to have another pop at the Russians going by current form

Panorama last night didnt show Putin’s Russia in a good light. It would appear that nothing has changed since the last Cold War. According to one of their senior ministers they have a better record with freedom of speech than we do. lol

Not sure how up to date this info is but from the diagram it seems the % we get from Russia comes via a pipeline into Europe. If Russia wanted to turn off the tap to the UK they’d have to do it to the rest of Europe…that seems unlikely.

Where Britain’s Gas Comes From

Looks like the French have decided it was the Russians

The leaders of France, Germany, the US and UK have issued a statement on the nerve agent attack in the UK, saying there is “no plausible alternative explanation” to Russian responsibility.

They condemned the “first offensive use of a nerve agent in Europe since the Second World War”, calling it an assault on UK sovereignty.

Read that as well. Must be some conclusive proof for Marcon to change his tune so emphatically. And then there are the new American sanctions just announced because America has decided Russia interfered in not only their election but also their grid.

Wonderful choreography all round.

Who got to decide what was allowed to be concidered as plausible?

I think it was pap, but I’m not quite sure…

That’s good @themightyostrich wasn’t expecting it and you’ve merged two threads, whilst staying on topic.

Given we’re all miserable cynical old farts I thought I’d share Teenage Mutant’s view after reading the article. Ignore the txt speak and lack of punctuation / grammar - it was sent by txt. I could translate it but I’m sure you’ll get the gist of it. If you have kids they might help you…

Anyway, just another view to add to the shitstorm"

Interesting read a few things don’t seem right though, the U.K. is working with the OPCW and that guy from porton down only said published in public domain so privately through spies might know? Definitely seems they jumped the gun in saying Russia but does look a lot like similar things done by Russia.

If Russia did this they knew sanctions would come so with Russia there gas will be expensive and the eu would go to other countries most likely us since they are close allies and have 4 th largest reserves. Could make a whole conspiracy at how trump did it

Us did take over the Uzbek facilities too…"
