You’re not going to get any marbling on them.

Couldn’t we, as Bill Burr suggested (in a different context), go after cruise ship passengers instead? Prime cut. Unlikely to be missed.

Gentlemen please remember as per thread rule 217 part 17 section 47b: this thread is for those ā€˜slightly pickled’ not completed cunted. And blatent attempts to advertise Hipster Houndpiss or any other caninecockjuice that masquarades as ale will not be tolerated as these are in violation of the Chutters code

I was slightly programming this morning.

Has anyone noticed?

I think I’m going to get _slightly _pickled. Been a good week. While I am certain the June 2017 version of me will consider _this _writer a know-nothing dunderhead, I am no longer total shit at the new job.

I’ve signed NDAs so I can’t discuss specifics, but the first couple of weeks was really just learning about the computer systems I would be working on, concentrating on the main ones. I put a couple of simple things live, relatively ignorant of the bigger picture. Most of them even worked

The last few weeks have had their tough spots, easy to resolve if you know what you’re doing. I honestly didn’t, and things ran slower as a direct result. Unlike most programmers, there isn’t much distance between me and my users. It’s not like the days when I was whacking up websites, seen by people clicking hundreds of miles away. I prefer this setup, which is one of the reasons I’ve worked in manufacturing for so long. You see your users.

Even so, in my last job, I still worked in an office most of the time before I started working from home. I’d occasionally visit people in bullpens, but I’d never really go to see people on the shop floor. They’d normally bimble up to a meeting room in our plush surroundings.

I’ve never been closer to my users, or the systems I’m controlling. Made the effort to get to know almost everyone on the shop floor, and the rest are on my TODO list. That’s crap when you don’t know enough to fix things quickly, and you’re the only person who can without waking someone up in the States, and they’re looking at you. It is fucking brilliant when things go well, especially if you’ve had a hand in making them go well.

Today was fucking brilliant. The beers are going down like the Leicester.

I’ve had a stroke of luck tonight. Been working away all week and promised the snap dragon a belated valentine meal. However, she’s poorly , doesn’t want to go out but more importantly doesn’t want me under her feet. So I’m slightly pickled on Bishops Tipple down Poole quay

Don’t overdo it and start drunkenly shouting ā€œpoints based immigration systemā€ at any migrating birds flying overhead, @lord-duckhunter .

Of course, holepuncture of SWF infamy would just call them vermin :lou_sunglasses:

I’m slightly pickled. Just been out for an early meal with Mrs C_S and very nice it was

Had our own personal Uber in the name of Young Adult #1, but had to come home early so she can go out clubbing with her mates.

Guess I’ll get shit faced at home then…

:lou_lol:

The only migrating birds we have in Poole are pretty fit ( apart from their teeth) so they’re most welcome

I remember when my eldest lad picked me & snap dragon up at 11pm & he’d left his girlfriend at home babysitting our brats. The snap dragon was so grateful and so apologetic about " ruining his night" because he had to baby sit & pick the old folks up. His reply made me realise I was old , we hadn’t ruined anything , they were meeting their mates at 11 for their night out . Fuck me, when I was 23 the night ended at 11 not stated then

To be fair @steveintheforest being stuck on the Waterside as a nipper that was it, 11 O’Clock and the refrain from the bar-keep: ā€œHaven’t you got homes to go toā€

On visits back to Hythe, nothing much had changed…unless you can get to the bright lights across the water, but more importantly, being able to get back again…

Well we used to get lock ins at the Langley Tav, but when they introduced all day opening local plod kept turning up at 11:30pm and throwing us out. it actually cut the amount of hours we were in the pub.

Not Friday night but Saturday afternoon (here) a San Miguel Pale Pilsen to line the stomach then Tanduay rum and coke whilst waiting for a roast lemon and garlic chicken to cook.
