I keep seeing similar reports. Mark my words, before long you lot of alcohol-loving reprobates will be as shunned by society as smokers have already become. 
And the world will be all the worse for it.

Whatâll happen is that the price of a smaller glass will rise to that of a large glass.
People will probably drink almost as much as they do now but the publican / restaurant will be making more money selling what is effectively short measures.

Iâm convinced thereâs an agenda here, to nudge Joe Public away from the demon drink. Itâs quite subtle and likely to be effective. I donât think itâs in any way altruistic or driven by any genuine concern for their fellow men, theyâve calculated at this point that it will be more cost effective in the overall scheme of things if we all stopped drinking. Ergo, thatâs what theyâre doing.
Plus, weâll have to become teetotal anyway under Sharia law in a decade or two.

Margate update
Itâs great - loads of micro pubs - dare I say too much choice
Walked to broadstairs and Ramsgate today, and same story - loads of good pubs
not sure what it would be like in the summer (other than rammed) but this time of year is great

We walked the coastal path to Ramsgate through broadstairs to blow away the cobwebs on Saturday - both have great pubs and beer

Emergency trip to my magic beer shop this morning
Couple of bottles of Granat named for the colour or garnetâŚ
Granat" is a hybrid of two beer worlds. Lightness and weight of barley beer, balanced bitterness with aroma in the style of American Red Lager.
