Lovely Drop. Smells like a garden centre in winter. Resin and pine make you a little worried but the taste is sharp fruits with a bit of a bitter note. As usual with Verdant itās foamy and really full in the mouth.
As you all know, in Shroppieworld Friday night is campanology night and after a sweaty 90 minutes of tugging (on a rope) liquid refreshment is clearly needed.
Good news is the village where we ramg tonight has a community pub in the village hall. Less good news is I found myself buying a round for 8 thirsty ringers.
Greene King are the only bottled Brit Beers I can get here regularly. Bishops Finger, Spitfire, Whitstable Bay and an IPA. Problem is they cost more than a bott;e of drinkable Tempranillo from Lidl!
Found this one (and itās 5 other mates in my store) with the boxes of Ales I got 10 days ago and only half a bottle of wine each!
If youāve never had a craft ale from Verdant, fix that oversight as quickly as you can.
Like a Thai hooker, they know how to make it feel special when itās in your mouth.
Apparently.
Sadly, that knowledge also makes the beer expensive - but unique. This is thick, creamy and heady - theyāve put a load of oats in here. Like watered-down IPA porridge itās got BODY. Then pine, and flowers and, because itās balanced so well, it goes down without apology and moments later - there it is - a bitter zing that reminds you that hops were involved.
Anybody planning to attend NotBletchās Fun With Fluids to either enjoy my fluids or stage an intervention, I plan to be at the Butcherās Hook from about 7 - trains permitting.
Greetings! May your testicles never shrink with age related testosterone reduction, and may you only require Tena for men when donning a light coloured trouser
Alas, on this occasion, as much as my body and mind would be willing participants in whatever debauched and sickening depravity you have in mind, I can ill afford the time to travel such distance this weekend, let alone the consideration the horrendous expense without an invitation to be quietly slipped in and be accommodated by one of your kinder souls. Are any of yoursouls accommodating?
I will therefore wish thee all much fun and fine frolicking as you consume fluids from Antās ātapā (a fine euphemism if ever there was one)
Just remember to be good humans, be kind generous with your love and show some fucking compassion even to those you consider cunts
As much as I would like to pretend to have an excuse not to come and snub @nofriendsbletch, unfortunately I do have a good excuse and will be in the smoke watching Def Leppard and Motley Crue
Iāll raise a disgustingly expensive frothing jar of rats piss to you all tomorrow evening.
The Slowlane private yacht is moored in Reykjavik harbour and we have managed to find two fabulous Tuna friendly Dolphin steaks to celebrate missing your get together.
I have instructed Chambers to deliver a dozen bottles of Brewdog Viginās Sweat to antās hostelry to help you though the evening.
Arrived on the platform at 00:03, last train to Eastleigh arrived at 00:04 and, with the style, poise and good looks Iād displayed all evening, I walked straight onā¦
ā¦whereupon I promptly fell asleep and snored and farted my way to Eastleigh.
A cracking evening with cracking beer spoiled only by the cunts I had to talk to.
All the beers were selected by @ant - who is 100% to blame for my āslow startā to Sunday.
Staggeringly Good Brewery - Little Arms, Big Ambitions - NEIPA @5%
A Pompey brewery that Iāll be visiting later this month. A really lovely session pint with lots of sweet fruits. Slight salty hint from the carbonation, and whilst it was a little thin, it made for a good thirst-quencher.
Not in my sweet spot at all but this was a revelation. Itās exactly as itās described a crisp and light lager with flowery hops once itās gone down. Bloody lovely.
Wow. ANOTHER Verdant beer that just screams quality. Thick and bubbly and then loads of fruit and flowers that start with the bubbles and stay after theyāre gone. Usually get my Verdant beers in cans so was great to have this from the tap. Fresh as.
I like a Wheat Beer every now and then and this was a great example. The previously consumed alcohol together with my lack of experience with Wheat Beers means I havenāt got a great deal of mental notes on this other than āgreatā.
The main reason for being there. This beer is on a different planet. 1/3 of a pint cost me (actually might have cost Goat) north of Ā£6 but it was worth it - especially if I didnāt pay for it. I say 1/3 pint but after Iād passed it around our table for ātastesā, I probably had a thimble left, but it was a magical thimble. Thick and bubbly, DEEP fruit and hid nearly all of its 10% alcohol from view until it was gone and then bam! A real explosion of things happening on the tongue. Wonderful. Except that Goatās mate who had had a ātasteā told us she had herpes!
Ended the evening on this. A gorgeous sweet, chocolatey stout (which @BTripz would have loved) with a hint of chilli heat. Bugger me it was great. Every swig got your attention.
