Picnic in the forest with the family
Getting involved in the local customs - today is river jousting in Sete
The locals are absolutely mad for it and as far as I can tell the crews have spent lunch prior to the tournament getting twatted on pastis
Excellent stuff
The judges have just taken delivery of a barrel of ice and beer
Probably to wash down the Ricards they all see to be clutching
So we sacked that off after an hour and 15 or so jousts. Apparently this was going to continue non stop for six hours
Great fun though, initially
Listening to War of the Worlds whilst doing the ironing and baking a cake.
Jeff waynes version?
Multi-tasking!
At that age, if they’re not asleep they’re little terrors.
Just realised I’ve more days holiday to take before the end of the year than I thought.
As it is my quietest time of the year I’ve just extended my summer break meaning that from this Thurs I won’t be back in the office until 5th August.
Have also booked Xmas and still have 6 days to take here and there.
Am now frantically trying to make sure none of the wheels will fall off anything while I’m off & making sure I’ve got enough senior cover to so everyone doesn’t spend the 17 working days I’m off in the pub or “working from home”
The Ayatollah deciding that a third bottle is a good idea
Blimey, haven’t seen a proper Screwdriver for a while.
A little something I have worked on. Currently oiling their new stable block (not a euphemism) which cost more than my house. Though the main building looks a little stark it is gorgeous inside and the lines will soften as the planting matures. Stunning place on a huge plot with river and lake. Indoor pool is nice too.
Watching my daughter take to photography like a fish to water.
That’s the nice bit done, over to the opposing thread for the truth.
