😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

4 minutes? I presume that was the wait time at the bar rather than how long it took you to neck the 1st

Waitress delivery time in fact :rofl:

You need to have a word - the delivery time for that third beer is ridiculous

The joy of eating in France is that the most modest of restaurants still takes food seriously.

We are on a remote campsite and tonight ate at the campsite restaurant. Minimal.choice but the two starters were excellent vegetable delicacies, the main of blanquette de dinde was substantial and the tarte au citron perfect. Plus a pichet of very acceptable local wine and a soft drink.

Total bill: €42. Bloody brilliant. I love France.

A miserable wet day saved by a superb lunch in Auxerre (I had snails followed by chicken in an amazing Burgundian sauce) Mrs S salmon. Now savouring the gift bottle of Burgundy received from the campsite owner (amazingly as a compliment to my French speaking, unheard of amongst British travellers) whilst indulging myself with Bruckner’s incomparable Mass in D.

Drop off at airport entrance through check in and security and in the lounge with a vodka and coke in under 13 minutes a new world record.

I’m considering sending this to Private Eye for Pseuds Corner.

That would tick off a bucket list ambition.

Ah, great celebrations at Slowlane Mansion when we arrived home on Sunday afternoon. Chambers had just finished mowing the front lawn.
We bought him a new Qualcast mower in April. He was a little disappointed at first as I have always liked the finish you get with the 12 inch cut but he got used to it in the end. We were so pleased at the result we gave him the rest of the day off…the view from the ornamental lake…

Keep an eye out in upcoming editions…:smile:

I’ll frame it and hang it in the loo if it gets published :joy:

So. Mrs P_F demanded i take her & Mum to my “secret” shrooming spot. It was a lovely day andthe by-line was Moose Hunting.

I done some serious slopes (big result for the knee). To my great pride i found exactly the same number of Shrooms as Mum
(Zero)

Mrs P_F - all Porcine and going in a creamy pasta tomorrow

Mum is of course 98% blind so i did well to hold my own on the shrooms hunt

On a scale of 1-10, we had a 1,500,999 event this afternoon.

Grandson #2 Casper who lives in Cologne & got his Saints away kit last week gave us a call for a chat.

1st time ever
