😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

Lady Slowlane and I had lunch on The Grand Canal in Venice near The Rialto Bridge and it didn’t cost a fortune. OK so I called in a favour…I’m a Godfather after all.

The ship equivalent of flight-radar24 is very boring….

Not me - I’m taking the Ayatollah- she will single-handedly kick start the local economies of the places we visit

I am on the look out for a reindeer scrotum purse for my sister in law to go with the kangaroo one I bought her when we were down under

I have a big problem with cruise ships in Venice - who wants to wander into St Marks square and see one of those massive ships parked at the end of it?

Suggest you accidentally ā€œforgetā€ your bank cards and take just enough scrotal cash.

Will be interested to hear about the experience- Mrs C_S keeps suggesting a cruise but have managed to deflect to date, but I’m running out of excuses….

They’re not allowed to enter Venice through the front door anymore. All cruise ships arrive via Shit Creek now.

It wasn’t always like that…this in 2012…

Looks crowded still. Get a vaparetto to Murano - always much less crowded.

We must have gone early 2000’s - early enough that we were navigating by map and getting hopelessly lost, but then always ending up in St Marks - great times

Absolutely love the place. For some reason we end up there / Jeselo every couple of years.

Try it in the winter / very early spring. A completely different place. A lot of stuff isn’t open tbf.

Ahhh…yes I love Venice too…one of my favourite movies…

…saw it when it first appeared…stunning in every sense of the word.
