😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

Actually, when you said you’d had a widower, I just assumed you’d turned. :cowboy_hat_face::cowboy_hat_face:

Was she talking about the main menu or the “EXTRAS”?

Well, I’m sure you would fancy some extras with a Younger Lady, but for the rest of us not sure we’d be keen on offering extras to our Great Grandma…

I would not describe seeing an innocent child falling into the dark pits of Spurs dependency as “a little pleasure of everyday life”.

ITV Central weather tonight broadcast from Olney Rugby Club, the very place I played (to a decent standard) in my youth.

3 points for a try. Prince Obolensky playing outside you?

My only claim to fame is that I played against two England internationals. Andy Hancock and Dickie Jeeps.

I sat next to JPR Williams at a London Welsh game.

He used to drink in the Retreat in Reading, but the miserable bastard never bought me a pint.

After I set up Poulter for a mmega exposure of his Golf gear I got an invite to a Tour party.
Poults did it as a Thankyou as he banked $500k in revenue from my stunt.
So I was talking to him at this party & he said - let me introduce you to my mates…
1st up was was Jonathon Davis who gave me a hug, then his other mate Gavin…
We talked shit for a while then I spotted Paul Casey, so I mentioned I had seen his hole in one and as I was the only person on the planet to see it he got a round of Moet Bottles in. Nice bloke, as were JD & GH.But if you want Rugby Stories…
Well. Dubai 7’s - we had them all

So.
Besides the @Goatboy visitors & holidaying families, we are seeing a different set of tours recover, namely Jewish Tours
Best description is Pilgrimage
They come to visit obscure Cemeteries and a few Synagogues.
Very different lots of prayer readings and humming I guess their versions of hymns.
Very little interest in the scenery although the ladies do want to go shopping.
Most of today was spent heading east through the Beskids mountain range. So beautiful but real back road stuff.
I’m shattered at the last one now then a 30 min drive to a town where we are staying overnight 400+Kms today.
Close to 800 tomorrow
Different and educational

Are they looking for family roots?

My claim. Standing next to Neil Heany in a club after a defeat that afternoon. I told him he owed me a beer. When he asked why, I said “after the way you played today”.

TBF he laughed and bought me one

Think it’s more than that.
There will be s time to ask tomorrow but now it really is a special journey they are on

Interesting tbh

If their family name is Cohen I think they’re fucked.

Our loofah plants (2) are now well over 30 foot along the top f the fence.
Sadly (until today) the male and female flowers have not coincided - but today we had both! Mrs TB performed some plant sex with bits of male flowers, and hopefully we will have at least one loofah!
Fingers crossed.

But hopefully not 30ft long. Might be an issue at bathtime

Fascinating.
The day was a turd so more on Annoyances thread later.
But.
So the Wife asked me a question
What do you & others here think if us coming over?
Corbyn sized wormhole opens.
So I answered with a So why do you come here question
They come to pray.
But they visit the graves of “great figures” from their past.
People who established many of their traditions or carried out heroic acts or simply made a big difference
It is a very big thing for them.
So with lots more detail than that we moved on to the way Catholics visit their loved ones how that differs from the UK.
And more, going into stuff about All Hallows Eve, into their traditions and culture.
I talked about Syria she asked why they hate us, damn I actually got a “that’s true” when I said most of us simply want to bang tgeirvheads together and make a deal, because this will never end.
A real education, maybe 2 hours of talking and learning on both sides.

I may unwittingly have ushered in the end of the world.
The opening of the multi verse as EVERYONE has told me that any job with them pays more than the normal rate because they never tip, so the company covers that.
Well, they not only gave me a $50 tip they went out of their way to get some kind of special cake as a gift for Mrs P_F & Mum.
In summary, no real awareness of anything but prayer so would seem to be ignorant or arrogant, but in reality just a different view.
But lovely people
An eye opener
