“Turkey” being a euphemism for “Seagull”.
Never underestimate the resourcefulness of a Pole when there’s money to be made

Rabbit stuffed seagull no doubt.
Hey Phil, what’s the difference between -11C & -8C?
Well, in -8 I can feel my toes, but nothing else.
Any difference between Dubai & Poland?
Well, can’t recall ever going out & shovelling snow into plastic bags to use as makeshift ice blocks in a cool bag to keep a Turkey fresh tbh
PCR test is negative. In the middle of the omicron wave I have managed to catch a cold!
Don’t, I’ve now had this cold for at least a month…
Left over sponge fingers from trifle being made.
Less of us now than my large family all them years ago, so trifle is smaller, and there are more sponge fingers left over!!
Don’t have to share the leftovers with anyone, so we have the classic win win win situation (for me that is).
Apparently it’s a bit early to start drinking so I’m having a pina colada.
In another galaxy, far far away……….
Decades ago I was sent to Tesco for two or three things on Xmas eve (fresh bread I think, brown & white).
I returned with many other things, amongst which was a whole salmon - absolute bargain!
Mrs TB was up to her armpits cooking for loads of people that evening, and at least 14 the following day.
I was told (amongst other things) to deal with the salmon myself, as she was more than a little busy.
Imagine how my heartstrings sang when young adult 2 turns up at 10.30 last night, clutching a whole salmon from Tesco - absolute bargain at £11!
“I remember you doing this years ago” he said. I thrust the bloody salmon back at him, and suggested he give it to his mother, who was just coming down the stairs.
His memory of the occasion all those years ago did not stretch to the bollockings I got all those years ago with Mrs TB covered in pinafore and flour!
All was well at the end of the day - I have to deal with the salmon later tonight, as the freezer gets emptier.
So sweet that the lad picked up on all the good things I taught him!
Google sends me through the back streets on way to pick up clients this am.
I’m gonna be 12 minutes early.
I am stopped at lights outside Lewiatham local supermarket.
Might as well try I say to myself.
I emerge 4 minutes later clutching Cranberry Sauce & (our preferred) Evaporated Milk for the Xmas Pudding.
The only 2 things we were missing.
Random & marvellous
Well Sis C_S and Bro_in_law both tested Covid negative and arrived with more food and booze that can possibly be consumed.
Next door did a humongous firework display - spent a bucket load on ‘em - free to view obvs
Just finished supper - Mrs C_S’ salmon en croute was lovely.
Off to light a fire and get the Fam around for more drinks and chat.
YoungAdult#2,on water. Went out and got wankered in Spoons in Surbiton with mates and just about got up in time for food
God. they’ve just cracked open some JD / Honey abomination
Time to turn the Yule Log as @lifeintheslowlane knows too well from his days in Court
Boxing Day. Everyone’s long gone, we never get up until close to lunchtime, and live the day out watching tv films and eating warmed up leftovers.
Bliss.
Proper bunker day
Old peculiar washing down a brigade of sausage rolls and sundry party food items
Films, quizzes, playing with our loot, peace and quiet, bliss
Very pleasant stay with senior s-i-l and family. Excellent food and company, favourite niece in good form
I have a penchant for Turkish delight, and was given a 3 box set of three different flavours.
I have been sat here for several days eating this to the point where I feel a little sick.
I don’t have to share them with anyone, I don’t have to save any for anyone - everyone in my life hates Turkish delight.
Bliss - again!
I rebelled
A really nice Steak & a bottle of Stellenbosch while bingeing Lost in Space S3 with Mrs P_F in Isolation
Lovely jubbly
Hi Nan. I thought you died 37 years ago?
