😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

I would think a sword stick with a nude lady handle would be both practical and aesthetic. :lou_lol:

It runs from 1755m to 2755m
And that single cable just hangs in the air. No towers, nothing for about 1km.
4 people at a time squished in standing up.
Absolutely no no NO!

A spooky coincidence timing wise.

Overlooking the different country bit obv.

The other weird scary shit was that this one I saw had only ONE car on one cable

The only one I’ve been on is the one up Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio. The cars carry about 20 or 30 people…I only did it because there’s no other way. Brown trouser trip.

I’ve done that one. Two stages if I remember correctly. Been on many others too, from the Alps to Canada but, strangely, I think the scariest was coming down the Great Orme in Llandudno.

When I was in Seattle I was going to go up the Space Needle (not a euphemism) but the lift was on the outside, I deferred…

I’ve got no head for heights. I stood at the ticket office for the Eiffel Tower. Lady Slowlane said she was going to the top, and suggested I go to the first stage. No, I said I was going to the top, I’d be just as scared on the first stage as the top so I might as well go all the way.
 :scream:

Barcelona. Montduic. When I was 12, seemed a lot of fun.

Na…no way.

Years ago I walked over the top of the Pont Du Gard. In those days there was the trough with 1 metre wide stone walls on each side. Flat topped and no fence, barrier or handrail. Just a 50m drop I crossed on one side. Which was ok until you met someone coming the other way and had to decide who went on the outside.:flushed::frowning: It’s been closed for years now.

So.
Ryder Cup volunteer registration done. Can someone truly get to have a once in a lifetime moment for a third time? You’ll know all about it if I do, next September!

The pleasure is that some years ago while working with an APP Co in the sandpit I got an invite to visit European Tour HQ & meet their Digital Marketing Team.

I pitched our product, and that of a friend (and fellow Volunteer Marshal). Our tech was too early for them, but the other stuff was a package to manage Volunteers at events.

In Paris 2018 I met the Volunteer Manager (who bought me beers, very nice and talented young lady) and talked more about the software.

I then did the introductions.

And they got the deal for the whole ET Ryder Cup Europe & LET.

So, I actually did something good and didn’t even charge a commission.

I will be having a nice dinner in Rome ā€œassumingā€ I get through the ā€œregistrationā€ process.

Oh, strangely, myself and a couple of others got greeted with a notice on the 2nd page of the application website where we were supposed to enter our ā€œexperienceā€ which simply said ā€œwe have all your details and we will be in touch.ā€

So I got a warm feeling from having helped solve a real Tech problem for the ET, get a huge reference client for a fellow Tech Company and? Nah, I will join the queue and rely on my charm, looks and experience
And maybe make an AirBNB no deposit booking for Rome

Mrs P_F & BFF watching a Polish movie while necking 3rd bottle of wine.
Points at TV asks where is this?
I reply Harness Hotel Bukowina Tatranska (about 10km from Zakopane in the mountains).
She says no way you can’t know that.
They pan out to the name of the hotel…
Mrs P_F - ffs
Smug grin

I’ve not lost my Celeb Magnet/Name drop abilities…
This week I’ve had a family from Malta in the Van - Salt Mines, Auschwitz & Zakopane today.
Turns out the eldest Son represented Malta in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest no less!

He did of course beat the UK entry - some non singer called Englebert Humperdink…

In case you were totally uninterested, this Anthem won it that year

Garlic is planted and sprouting; next years seeds have arrived, and most f my veggie tubs have been topped up with home made compost.
