😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

BTripz Jr has, obviously, been home schooling, his usual routine is to drag himself out of bed at around midday, do the minimum necessary to get his work done and then go back upstairs to play on the PS or watch TV.

Today we got a communication from the school that they are going to do live lessons next week!!

They’ve sent us a timetable and his first lesson is at 08:55…in the morning. He was mortified when I told him this…

Bet you never expected Polski_Phil to pop up with a Doggie pic!

Meet my sidekick Neff. (Nefertiti).
She’s the only person here who understands my pathetic attempts at Polish.
She mainly just chills and barks, but once the ride-on mower gets taken out she leaps into action.
Trotting alongside as if she’s at Crufts, all proud, until I go 2mm off line then off she goes.
When I lift off the blades to line up or empty the grass she gives me total shit for wasting fuel.
She’s old, slow and, after a good 90 minute run out, knackered. But she is always a happy bunny during & after.
1st day in 10 it hasnt been raining here!

An old pal of Mrs P_F finally managed to recover data from her old laptop. Which is cool as she had lost almost all her old photos from her time BP (Before Phil).
Her pal uploaded them to Dropbox.
Mrs P_F asked me to do the downloading (because it was technical as in I have to do it folder by fucking folder & anything with video times out a couple of times)
She also made a major error.
One of the folders is Mrs P_F on her Dxb BFF’s Hen Party.
Oh how epic…

Meanwhile I also found a historical early Dxb Saints pic when we played Reading in the Championship I guess and at our old home of Goodfellas

What chilli plants are you growing, gavstar? I have some Apache (easy) Burquinho and Aji Limon doing quite well at the moment. If you are experienced with chillies, i could do with some advice.
Loads of salad leaf, carrots, spring onions, etc coming on too - haven’t had to buy much salad for about 4 weeks now.

She’s a lovely-looking dog. I think our very own Darcey may well grow up to look similar, though with a less prominent blaze. Right now she’s just a little bit smaller…

No idea mate, grew them from some seeds I got from a pack of tescos ‘mixed chillies’, which didn’t specify what variety they were, if I were to guess I’d say Jalepenos. Sadly I’m not overly experienced, I grew some birds eye chillies about 10 years ago but was so traumatised from eating a raw one for a bet (felt like I was having a stroke whilst simultaneously drinking sulphuric acid and having half my face set on fire) I haven’t tried again until this summer. I’m keeping them out of direct sunlight in the middle of the day as they were struggling with the heat but seem to be perking up again.

I have some habaneros coming along quite well. I gave some to my brother as a pressie and I may have downplayed the scovil count

Who am I kidding - I lied and told them they are quite mild.

Cant wait until harvest time

Watching TV until 01:45, then a 05:00 alarm call to take Mrs P_F to the polling station to do her civic duty - make money out of Polling Day here.
She’s got a gentle 18 hour day ahead of her!
Which means I now go back to bed & am free to sleep in until lunchtime and watch Saints with no interruptions!.

I’ve been working my pictures with the aid of Photoshop for more than 20 years. The software is so vast it can be intimidating so you settle into a comfortable work routine with the same tools that suits your style. However every now and then you stumble upon another artistic tweek that excites. A couple of days ago I found Filter>Stylize>Oil Paint…the only danger is using it too often…

Surprising what you find lurking at the back of the woodshed.

Its a young Barn Owl, they have nested in the house roof since before we moved here. After a number of years when they disappeared they have now been successful for the past 3 years. This Owlet probably fledged last night and went into the woodshed to hide at dawn. It is standing on some plastic containers and gave itself away by trying to push itself tight into the corner and its talons were slipping badly on the plastic. It should stay there until this evening when the parents will hopefully encourage it to move to somewhere quieter. From the sounds coming from the attic there is another one up there trying out its wings.

How the f… do you post photos on here.

Like that

Easiest way is to right click on the image and select “copy image” or whatever similar wording your browser uses.

Then, in the reply dialogue, click where you want the image to go and click paste.

The “from the web” option in the upload dialogue seems to be a bit not worky very well.

Sorry about that, had copied image location and when pasted had got an icon which you had to click on to show photo. Got really frustrated not being able to do something simple.

Thank you for replying.
