😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

Just hidden 24 eggs in the garden for the grand kids to find when they wake up.

1 egg = 1 bar of chocolate redeemable at the kitchen table.

Easter Mass.
Unpronounceable named village isn’t big. It has a small Church, Mrs P_F wanted to go there rather than the bigger one in her parents village.
Obviously I have no idea what’s going on all Hallelujahs and Hail Mary’s to me & bening down/standing up at the wrong times, I’ve learned to cope.
Anyway, Church was rammed, standing room only & by the time it kicked off or whatever they do there must have been close to 100 people taking part OUTSIDE the Church, seems to happen often here.
Anyway it is a pleasure to see a community come together.
And a lovely morning to stand still for 30 minutes doing nothing.

Yep we walk Baddesley Common and Emer Bog. The Black Adder in the picture was taken on the grassy margins of the track that runs up from Emer Farm, Green Lane. Adders are common in these parts but dog walkers are particularly paranoid about them. My last Cocker walked over there an estimated 7000 times over his lifetime and was bitten once. A quick jab and he was fine the next day.

Actually it was telling you, “please don’t hurt me, I’m a Grass Snake” :lou_lol:
This is a Grass Snake…

Easy mistake to make but the Grass Snake has those yellow flashes on each side of its throat…the Adder doesn’t.

My mate Nick, who some of you met at Stable on my last trip back, lands here tomorrow week.
I’ve been collecting local Ales & craft beers ready for him to try.
Thursday, at the local Leviathan store the beer department guy suggested I try this craft lager 35p a bottle, 6.8%.
So I bought 2 - 1 for tasting for Nick & one for me to try before heading out yesterday.
It was lovely, but the pleasure? The bottle top had a message.
Yes, I won a free beer!
Damn I was gonna get more of them Tuesday anyway!

The pissed up chavs who have been doing a bank holiday bender without a top on and are completely sunburnt…

Wet Monday.
Whole day is Dyngus Day in Poland and southern parts of former E Europe.
Kids throw water over members of the other gender & spank each other with Pussy Willow.
There are processions, boys dress up as bears and other traditions. Dates back before 15th Century.
Also observed & expanded on in the US.

Sitting on the balcony this morning hearing screams and watching the neighbours kids chasing each other with ice cold buckets of water.

I’m staying out of it.
I’d only get into trouble being seen anywhere near a Pussy Willow.

You do mean the Widow’s Pussy?

Just asking

I ain’t brave enough to ask tbh.
6 year old niece just drenched me ffs

Favourite so far. Last few seem to be showing an individual coming through and it’s a perfect time of year for young Molly and photography, so looking forward to seeing more.
Wonders of a dog. Your photography gets an ever changing subject, you get the benifits of a new and true life long companion and you’re meaningful longevity is almost guaranteed according to the work of Gianni(Giovanni) Pes(University of Sassari).
Your decision was a win, win, win😁

She really is gorgeous. I really miss having a dog, but although i am tempted in my current situation it wouldn’t really be fair. I live alone and go away a lot, three months every winter when i follow the sun, plus weekends away during the summer. When i lived in Romsey i always had dogs, two dachsunds,(who are just the best), Labradors and whippets. I envy you.

Our good friends came over yesterday afternoon with Molly’s Aunt “Alma” who is 6 years old. They will see a lot of each other over the coming years as we often lunch together so it’s important they get to know each other early.

We didn’t know what to expect with Molly’s puppy attitude towards Alma…with us she can be typically bombastic, relentlessly playful. What a relief, Molly showed her elder a lot of attention but a lot of respect too, rolling over submissively when Alma paid her attention. Alma (who is the gentlest of souls) also growled when Molly got too, “in her face” and Molly backed-off. It was fascinating to watch the instinctive behavior and interaction.

Tomorrow is Molly’s first walk in “the wilds” and Saturday is her first “Puppy Play Group”…pictures and video will follow. :lou_wink:

This is Molly with Auntie Alma and our friends yesterday afternoon…

The trouble with a Blog is asking yourself, “is anyone going to be interested in this?” Your own answer is probably what stops you doing it. :lou_eyes_to_sky:

I started my golf journey one as a diary/scrapbook ended up with 100s of readers!
