😠 The Little Annoyances Of Everyday Life (Part 1)

Naa…he’s in better shape than me. I don’t wear the Alice band well. :frowning:

Nor does he but I don’t think that will stop him

The train guard getting in his last hurrah before the train company muzzles him - obviously fancies himself as a TV announcer

Just start nodding off and up he chirps again

Should have fucking listened to him

My train terminated and I’ve just missed the connection

I was still sat on the terminates train in my own world as the guard pointed out that this was the end of the line and that train that was leaving on the adjacent platform was the one I wanted

Public transport can fuck off, I would rather spend the rest of my days in wellies wading through the melted ice caps than do this more than once a month

It’s your own fault.
You didnt do a choo choo selfie

Wife went to a meetup with former nursing colleagues. After an hour the woman she was sat next to got a call telling her that her PCR test was positive!

We don’t have a big enough face palm emoji for this…

Yet another problem with this site.

We need bigger emojis!

City council and Millbrook rec - dog walkers have been using this park for decades, and there is only ONE waste bin!
Not a good way to encourage people to deal with their dog’s poo.
Another 10 bins would not go amiss - with at least one by each bench perhaps!

10 days ago, I dragged a 20kg holdall across London on the Tube with a load of thick cut smoked back bacon in it because I never see it here.
Today was ā€œAmerican Dayā€ in the local Lidl.
They had shit loads of American Smoked thick cut Back Bacon at half the price I paid.
It was delicious.

I tend to do what you have done :grinning:
Will not stop me doing it as the unexpected happening of decent bacon is so rare its like rocking horse shit and more bacon is always a bonus.

I feel your pain. Took us nearly 3 years to empty my mother’s place.

Yep gut wrenching. You quickly find their hard bought possessions have no worth beyond the charity shops. :slightly_frowning_face:

Yes indeed. I have only this week finally got rid of the collection of travel and nature VHS videos that parents had built up, many unopened.

We were lucky enough to offload a fair bit to the wider family with esp with kids starting out.

I’ve very little from the folks house apart from a few small trinkets and a load of photos

Charity shops weren’t taking anything at the end of 2020 so it was heartbreaking to see so much stuff destined for the dump when the clearance guys turned up for the final clearance.

I was in a strange position after my parents died. Most of their possessions were financially worthless but a few items passed down through the first born from wealthy Victorian ancestors were of importance and potentially worth a lot.

Three were large portraits in oils and needed to be preserved for future generations but not suitable for hanging on the walls of a centrally heated house. Should I sell?

I didn’t, I gave them as a living bequest to a literary trust in The Lake District. They have a purpose built museum and art gallery that is the perfect location for them to be seen.

I don’t give a fuck about their financial value, I just want them to be appreciated.
