Due to Covid 19 and lockdown controls international remittances into the Philippines are stuck in clearing banks in Manila and are not being distributed to local banks and accounts.
IE my wages are stuck in Manila and the wife has no way of getting them until they either relax rules of bank workers working or they allow electronic banking to be fully automated and the accounts are credited automatically with no human interference.
I cannot even transfer money from my UK account as it will also just get stuck in the queue at Manila clearing banks.
As you can guess the wife is not best pleased.
You see this is the sort of story that I worry about - ones that could turn this pandemic into social unrest.
Thatās just one story from one little part of the world. IF things were to break such that large chunks of society had zero money that were expecting to have some, weād take to the streets (2m apart obvs.).

Dont send anything via Travellex or their subsidiaries.
Can you not send some via Western Union?
With such huge numbers of Migrant workers supporting families back home, that must be a REALLY BLOODY BIG problem for far more people than your better half!

The Son and Daughters all still have jobs and money coming in so not an issue regarding no money. And as you say for the FOWās who are the only wage earners for a lot of families in Philippines it will soon become a very big issue.

He has, this morning, been to the shops to buy Easter eggs, not essential, and been for a walk around Poole Quay because āitās lovelyā. Mrs BTripz said he shouldnāt really be doing this and his reply (āIām one of those people who does what he wants, no-one is going to tell me what to doā) beggars belief.
Iād love for him to contract C-19 but the fucker would just give it to everyone elseā¦maybe I should make an anonymous call to the policeā¦

logged into Western Union and created an account using all my UK credentials.
went to send money using my UK debit card got all the way to them verifying the card and then your bank has declined the transaction.
This due to me being in the South China Sea and the IP address is for Malaysia and transferring the money from a UK bank account to the Philippines.
Please phone this number at Barclays.
Phone the number you are in a queue and due to Covid the expected wait time is about 1 hour and expected to increase.
Speak to a Scouser. who eventually gets me through the security questions without locking the account then Try to explain what is happening. so we try to send the money again. And your bank has declined the transfer please call your bank.
I am already on the phone with the bank.
OK try again after the Scouser has pressed some buttons at her end.
This time it manages to go through so hopefully the wife is sorted for the moment.

Iāve been doing the same, got a bit nervy when my pokey stick proper set on fire and the more I waved it about the more it went on fire but overall a great success, Iāve cleared out my dry waste and cleared out my shed beers so win win
