I have to say i donât understand what jingoism about Gibralter and overseas territories has to do with the UK acting as the USA" poodle, jumping when they say jump, and seizing an Iranian tanker on their instructions. Good boy, sit, roll over. On the spurious grounds that it was breaking EU sanctions on Syria. Here we have the British government falling over themselves to distance us from the European Union, yet using this as an excuse to seize this ship. Ironic that on the day that the independence movement of British MEPâ declared liberation from our slavery from the EU yoke, Great Britain would want to comply so slavishly with EU sanctions! Fighting to regain our sovereignty and freedom from the EU, but now proven vassals of the US.
EU sanctions against Syria only apply to EU members, on imports and exports from member states. Iran is not bound by EU sanctions, they arenât in Europe. This is, to all intents and purposes piracy by the British government. Expect to see any UK vessels entering Iranian waters having problems now. Perhaps Iran should impose their own sanctions and ensure no oil goes past Iran which may end up in the US or UK.
It was EU law not the Yanks.
Whether you like it or not and bollocks to jingoism its a benefit weâre there. Why did they sail around Africa?
British forces seized the ship at the request of the USA. The EU sanctions are against Syria, Iran are not bound by them, they arenât in the EU. Once we leave the EU we will âcontrol the Medâ on behalf of America, that much is clear. Mere vassals. The shape of things to come after October 31st.
Its going to a barbaric regime and one weâre against, Iran quite obviously was smuggling goods, I canât see what the issue is, we work with our partners, its called international collaboration.
And can you say the US requested this (they probably did I would assume but can you prove it?).
Not true. The waterway comes under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea(Art. 38 (2)). And that says piracy.
Why do you make shit up all the time?
Smuggling goods? It was an oil tanker FFS. Going about itâs lawful business. EU sanctions against Syria are not their concern.
The Spanish foreign Minister stated that Gibraltar seized the Grace 1 after a request from the US to Britain to stop the Tanker laden with crude oil.
John Bolton tonight â: Excellent news. The UK has seized the super tanker Grace 1 laden with Iranian oil bound for Syria in violation of EU sanctions. America and our allies will continue to prevent regimes in Tehran and Damascus from profiting off this illicit tradeâ.
Having failed in their attempt to topple the, like it or not, legitimate government of Syria using Islamic Jihadist headchoppers as their proxy army, the US are determined to prevail, they know that a failed state Syria is required in order to effect regime change in Iran. That has always been their goal, under serious pressure from Israel. If this means decimating the lives of the ordinary citizens of Iran and Syria, so be it. The ends justify the means. It is all geo politics, and sadly we are lumbered with the role of obedient lapdog, standing behind Trump, Pompeo and Bonkers Bolton, shoulder to shoulder with our new allies, Saudi Arabia and Israel.
Are there sanctions concerning Iran?
Read the law and stop the bullshit.
I believe I say this approximately every 3/4 daysâŚ
The law can been seen anyway one wants it to.
Ha Ha a Salisburyeqsue response ha ha!
No it canât you sad apologist for warmongers and mass murderers. Go ahead and make a tit of yourself again.
Ha Ha when the shoe is on the other foot you donât like it do you, go and have a smoke in the Donbass, the Crimea is bankrupt.
Usual bollocks. How unoriginal.
"Importantly for the Strait of Gibraltar, it, along with a number of other strategically important straits throughout the world, was the subject of special attention during the negotiations at the Third United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea resulting in recognition being granted to a new regime of transit passage which applied in certain international straits. The right of transit passage permits shipping a right of navigation for the purposes of âcontinuous and expeditious transit of the straitâ
Itâs piracy from the nation showing the world their subservience and complete lack of personal sovereignty, or respect for others. How fucking pathetic.
If its giving oil to a state under sanctions?
EU Law?
EU law is irrelevant, as has already been pointed out to you. International law always trumps local.
Subservient pirates. Howâs taking back sovereignty feel?
Mod editâŚ
So now EU law is irrelevant? What is the point of it then? Working with partners Iâd call it. Why the fuck did they sail 1000âs of miles around the cape? Wanted to visit the West coast of Africa?
