Lol
We had plain packaging when we went down the sweet shop & got the man to get the different jars down and stick them in paper bags! Like that ever worked.
Beaulieu sweet shop still does this and will be stocking up on gob stoppers, sherbet lemons and aniseed balls at the end of the month.
What were the Apple ones called?
iDunnoâŚ
neither do I but apple sours will be purchased.
Aniseed balls. MmmmmâŚ
Is that a term of endearment between you two?
Anyone know why Merkel is at d day commemoration but Putin not?
Because Russia were not that important and barely did anything during WWII. Just look at the numbers we had to fight and compare with the pathetic little force the Russians had to deal with.
Only 11 Wehrmacht divisions fought the Allied armies in Normandy, yet at the same time 228 Nazi divisions were fighting the Red Army in the east.
Probably because the West have long attempted to airbrush Russia/Soviet Union out of the history of the allies victory in WW2. I remember there was quite a bit of controversy back in 1995 when there were huge celebrations across Europe to commemorate 50 years since the end of the war. Russia werenât invited then either, it was as if they had played no part, or made no sacrifices in the conflict. Sadly this attitude says far more about the West than it does about Russia.
Hilarious to see Trump, a five times draft dodger, taking salutes etc as Commander in Chief.
Do Russia normally attend D-Day ceremonies? They werenât part of the landings, and their big commemoration day for WWII is May 9th.
Well Germany werenât part of the landings either but Frau Merkel was there.
I think itâs more a commemoration of the soldiers that died on both sidesâŚ
I would applaud that but Iâve not heard it described as such.
Trumpâs there.
