Rearming is a good thing when your neighbour is a pathological manic - if we donāt and Putin cracks on after Ukraine (and he will - he thinks he is reincarnation of Peter the Great), people will be wringing their hands about the lack of preparation.
Another view point is that this is less rearming and more replacing what we had FOC from the US
