Is Westminster a vital National Infrastructure route? No
Is the M25? Yes
What was the impact on the economy, law & order, medical needs of one (no real alternate route artery being shut vs something you could get around with Google Maps?
I donāt need to fight the cause, Landman Ep4ās Boardroom speech is all over the place and they made the point.
The question comes back to did the Farmers publicise their protest and follow protocol/notification processes? My guess is with no arrests they did.
The kids wearing Polyester, using mobiles or computers to communicate/cco-ordinate (ie Oil) & getting onsite by Uber didnāt
Yeah but easily shown as word salad.
I have absolutely no idea what that is

Mixing up JSO and the recent racist rioting?
Late stage capitLism.
Cut cost and just take money, who cares about integrity or service.
Or create rules vecause the modern way is to bag everythingā¦
Uhm⦠Fox and X - delighting in anything that attacks attempts to move away from fossil fuels; those bastians of objective insightā¦.
Also these arguments miss the principleā¦. its NOT only about the cost or āfootprintā in manufacture, but about the āreuseā as opposed to ādisposableā or single use principle⦠and that once running its not chucking out to shit on a daily basis⦠remember during lockdown how the air quality went up significantly? Because we did not a have shit load of exhaust fumes⦠why electric vehicles work well in city environmentsā¦
Its also about looking at alternatives to fossil fuels which are fucking up the planet⦠not all alternatives will work or be long term solutions, but there is a need to assess and innovate⦠just slagging these things is as immature as it is unproductiveā¦

We⦠photos and videos show clearly hoe hundreds of tractors blocked a major road and prevented others from going about their business⦠how is this different?
There is a difference between legal and illegal protest
If they had notified the relevant authorities then it is legal and they have as much right to be there as the people protesting for palestine or what ever other issue of the day. What JSO did was illegal and consequently they were punished for it
If they start to pull the same stunts as JSO - lets say parking up on the M25 at rush hour, then they should be on the receiving end of the same boot that JSO got kicked with particularly if it became a sustained campaign. The difference is that the farmers are probably smart enough to realise that public support would evaporate if they did that.
The while point if a right to protest is that there are freedoms to be disruptive. Its only illegal because the previous government made it such. Sadly too many folks only want āplannedā protest that causes no disruption and achieves fuck all⦠Also, farmers who sit on 3mil worth of property complain about being poor⦠who for years benefitted from EU subsidies⦠now feeling the pinch

No sorry - walking onto a motorway or chaining yourself to a motorway gantry has been illegal for decades - at the very least since 1982 with that section of the Highway Code was last updated
As for your last sentence, that reads like farmers shouldnāt have the right to protest because you consider them too wealthy - You were asking what the difference was between the protests. It looks like the answer is that you support one and not the other.
Had exactly this a few years ago when part of our fence blew down. The wind speed recorded at the nearest (not very near) weather station was 2 mph short of āstormā

Its why we now have bare minimal insurance
And why that yank git shit.
Take money cocer or delay everything
Another great line in Landman was about payouts to widows after a well blew & killed some workers.
Sure they had a $50m liabilty and insurance but the insurers would investigate for years and find a reason nit to pay anything
(Thereās another Board Room scene where they destroy a Britsā call to be more aware of tge movements and utterly destroy MOTās argument.
There is literally nothing in modern society that doesnt need oil. Itās use as fuel is but a small part
I dont defend Oil but society built it abd it aināt going away by glueing yourself to a Motoway and killing people in an ambulance
Sorry you are missing the point. I can appreciate the safety concerns over walking on to Motorways, but the draconian measures taken with those protesters when looking to disrupt and make a significant point cannot be overlooked⦠protest is not always done politely⦠and the context should be taken into account - where better to illustrate the impact if ICE vehicles and their pollutants than on the roads?
So what about tractors burning diesel in the LEZ? or is that degree of naughtiness allowed under context of protest? Protest often requires disobedience and as such should be cut some slack⦠in BOTH cases⦠and as for the accusation that farmers should not be allowed to protest that is bollocks. I dont happen to agree with them but they have the right to do so, and to generate disruption⦠In both cases jail sentences are ridiculous
And as I recall you were quite happy the JSO were given the full harshest sentences in full Daily Mail extreme nonsense⦠I suggest because you disagreed with their cause as opposed to their disruptive methods⦠(I can play that game to)
So what you are saying is that any protest, however disruptive, however destructive is acceptable providing that context is justifiable - I just do not agree with that.
JSO chose a route of criminal disobedience - they got prosecuted. Rightly so IMO. If the Farmers break the law, then yes they should too. Thatās the thing will laws, they are not optional just because people think their particular pet cause is more important.
I have said before that I donāt buy in to protesting, The Farmers have a grievance, they have chosen to protest, providing they do it legally, then I guess they can fill their wellies - if I get caught up in it, I will be pissed off in the same way the Palestinian protest got on my wick when I was trying to get across London.
My beef is with the manner in which people go about advancing their cause
And whats naughty about driving through the LEZ if you pay the toll - TFL actually facilitate it
Rules need to be set. You read the contract and accept or decline the cover offered. Seems everyone wants the rules to be changed to suit their individual cases these days
And this is how the internet turns an awful lot of people into fuckwitted cretins - present company excepted obvs.
I donāt read it that MOT is saying that.
