I suspect this year’s event will be worth watching for all the wrong reasons

I’ll wait to be called into the room by Mrs C_S as necessary

My word.

It was wrong to invite her.
And it was so obvious that they were cutting and pasting “crowd noice” over her song and when she finished last night.
That Guardian article is brutal as is this one

There is an Aurora tonight.
It can be seen from our village so you should see it loud & proud

I am discombobulated.
I was uncomfortable with the EBU inviting Israel.

I have been very concerned at the stories and videos coming out of the Israeli Media team being at best aggressive, probably abusive and very close to fascist.

But all that pales into the really dirty feeling.

Eurovision has ONE sponsor.
They are an insignificant Israeli haircare company.
No others.
How many buds were received?
How was the process run?
How much did they pay?

Basically Israel has bought the contest.
Viewers will now boycott it and you watch. Israel will win it

Dirty Propaganda straight out of the 1930s playbook

Well Israel have bought governments so I would imagine buying the Eurovision song contest would be a walk in the park for them. Always worth remembering the Al Jazeera expose, The Lobby, where Israeli’s from their embassy in London were covertly filmed at a meeting of Labour Friends of Israel offering British politicians £1 million, in cash, if they could produce dirt on politicians who were prominent Palestinian supporters, Corbyn and then Tory minister Alan Duncan, who is a passionate supporter of Palestinian rights, were the two they were most interested in. Also of course, during the Labour leadership campaign Starmer was the only candidate who refused to disclose his financial backers, after he won the contest he was reluctantly forced to do so, his main backer, to the tune of many thousands of pounds was a prominent Israeli businessman and arms dealer who was a close confidant of Netanyahu. Now it appears we have prominent Israelis paying for advertisements in the USA, lobbying for Eurovision votes. When it comes to the criticism of many Israel apologists, saying Eurovision should not be politicized , the fact of the matter is that the only ones politicizing the contest are Israel. Some things never change. Of course, pointing this out probably makes me an Anti-Semite, which is absolute bollocks. This is how the government of the State of Israel get away with their disgraceful behaviour, which would not be tolerated by Western governments if it were any other nation.
