Yep. Seems like the complete global DNS address book for ALL FB servers has gone missing. So, my simple understanding is that no-one can find anything.
And apparently the only people with authority to access the servers don’t have authentication to reverse the damage and vice versa.
So they’re going to have to take down all their security and share everything to get able to do anything.
Looks like a real shit storm. The question is accident or enemy action?

Although the fuck that runs facebook said he would shut it down if a court action against him for removing obnoxious comments or he could not be held for said comments was not resolved.

This is the best explanation I’ve seen, too. The question is, was it a bit of dummy code accidently run, run with malicious intent or even (for conspiracy theorists), a deliberate act by FB to close down for a while when they were generating loads of negative feedback, or even to give them a chance for some data cleansing.
