I used to be totally against the death penalty and probably am still against it, but since having kids my attitude has shifted, Iād say I am probably not alone in this.
What is deeply immoral is keeping the guy in jail for twenty years then executing him. Over here he would have been released by now. Apparently he had rehabilitated inside too.

There. Is a difference between your personal feelings towards anyone who might harm your children, a natural response, and in the rational way a society decides to deal with those commit the most serious of crimes.

Then I commend you on taking such a course, I donāt know if I could, justice appears an easier option than retribution.
If we believe it is wrong to take a life, how can justice be served by taking a life? The death penalty clearly does not work as a deterrent so why is it still a thing in some places? Decent societies do not commit state murder on their citizens.
