“Sky Sources” now claim Liverpool have NO interest in Fonte! Ha, gotta love the media machine.
Im beginning to think that Barry Sanchez is Pap’s second account, used to generate traffic for the site.
If that is true none of the top six want him.Only ones apparently will be a step down for less money and a relegation fight. He should sack his agent and try to mend fences.
My mate does that as part of his work, he’s currently looking for an apprentice chippie but even he says he wouldn’t take Fonte.
Isn’t his new agent the “super agent” Jorge Mendes? He’s fucking shit if he can’t shift Jose - or is it Jose isn’t all he’s cracked up to be?
Ok, he’s been good for us and could have another couple of seasons, but surely he’s not a good long term investment for another club, esp at the price I suspect Mendes has told him he’s worth…
He’ll still be off. I imagine it’s a done deal, amicably so. With all parties agreeing to keep their mouths shut until his replacement arrives.
Where? Fuck knows. I’m saying China.
As it is a slow news day, I thought that I would share this with you. Not exactly ground-breaking revelations I admit.
I think the reality is that we have made our bed and will probably have to lie in it. There will always be more money elsewhere and players will always want more. The moment we say ‘no’ to a player wanting to leave then we will have a Fonte/Payet/Costa situation on our hands and the club wont ever keep an unhappy player on the pay roll. They are such prima donnas nowadays that their toys will be thrown left, right and centre to the point where they won’t actually play or offer anything of value to the club.
Look at Berahino… as much as I loved the WBA chairman taking a stand and sticking two fingers up to Daniel Levy, in hindsight they probably should have sold him and moved on. He has done absolutely fucking nothing for them in the last 18 months (or whatever it is) and is currently away at ‘fat camp’ or some shit like that. Disgraceful if you think about it.
If we suddenly did take a stand and said “nah we arent selling you, so honour your contract ya little bitch” then I guarantee we will lose our reputation for ‘attracting’ top young players almost overnight. The weasley dick weed agents would simply advise their client against a move to Saints. It is an almighty catch 22.
The only players we retain for an extended period are players that nobody above us in the football pyramid wants. JWP and Davis probably being the obvious ones. (I do really rate SD by the way, but his age, lack of goals and direct assists has kept him under the radar of the ‘elite’).
So does it come down to the old adage that “it’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all”? Would we rather have VVD for 2 years or Gareth McAuley et al for 5 years? A rhetorical question for sure.
Until we start deploying the CIA brainwashing therapy on the academy prospects, instilling that “Saints is the biggest club in the world and £50,000 per week is better than £100,000 per week” then we are probably not going to be able to change in a hurry.
From a rationale, cold light of day perspective I understand all of this but it still irks me all the same.

Unfortunately you have to get years under your belt to realise there is not enough difference between £50k a week and £100k a week to change your life. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to waste £50k a week.
£50k a week for 5 years is enought to keep you comfortable for the rest of your life. If you’re happy with £50k you won’t be any happier with £100k.
If you chase money something is lost on the way.
…but we’re talking about footballers aren’t we.
That’s what I don’t quite get about the likes of Costa, he already has more money than he can spend, does he really need even more just to stand about being marked by a Chinese bloke who would be playing Sunday League over here?
There must be footballers who love playing, it can’t just be about money??
I noticed Morgan saying on his move to Everton that he had become used to playing every week and it was difficult to understand why he wasn’t.
I realised integrity was dead when Ronald left, but perhaps one day a player will come out and say to his greedy agent, fuck that move to Chelsea/Man City, I might be playing at a lower level, but I’m playing.

Part of the problem is often (not always) their false pride, or hubris if you paid attention when studying Othello at school. Whether that is personal arrogance or their agents blowing hot air up their arses, I don’t know. Probably a combination of both.
Did Scott Sinclair and Fabian Delph honestly, HONESTLY believe that they could hold down a position at Manchester City? They would have to be fucking deranged to think that they would play. Therefore it HAS to be the money and the prestige. (By prestige I mean, that in a nightclub a young skank is more likely to be impressed and willing to perform oral pleasures for a guy who says he ‘plays’ for Man City rather than Swansea.) Some of these guys actually want the tabloid lifestyle. So for me, these often tend to not be footballing decisions.
More great news! Shall we just sell Cedric too and start from scratch next season? Maybe Forster too…he’s pretty good with his feet, Pep…honest.
As I said earlier, I understand the reality of our plight but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t annoy me.
I’ll say this, Fatso. When you can be arsed, boy, you’re good.
I note with some pride that you’ve elevated your assume the worst artform to a point where it doesn’t even require my actual participation.
Normally, your bog standard poster would take the hump at this point, but not me.
Run with it Lone Wolf!
Kin hell. Pap posted. That new job of spending the ad revenue must be tough
The World has gone Mad.
citeh allegedly ready to offer Messi 800 Grand a WEEK.
That’s about 10 x what we pay VVD
(All those posters elsewhere will bleat we lack ambition when we can’t match that while complaining the cost of an ST has gone up 50 quid)
MESSI TO MANCHESTER
According to The Sun, Manchester City have told Barcelona they are prepared to pay a record £100m to sign Lionel Messi.
Negotiations between City and Barcelona reportedly took place at the end of last month, but no bid was made.
Messi is yet to agree a contract extension with Barcelona - Neymar and Luis Suarez have recently signed - and City are prepared to offer him £800,000-a-week.
Football wages got beyond stupid some time ago. I know the arguement about there being so much money in football that the players should get their cut but that doesnt wash for me. Use the money for football development and to bring ticket prices and the price of replica shirts down - or lets go completely left field and pour that money into finding a cure for cancer. As for the arguement that footballers only have a short career so should be set up for life, bollocks. No one has a job for life now. There is no reason why a footballer should not find another job when they end their playing days just like the rest of us.
Cunts.

3 signings and we have done none! Madness I tell you, madness.
Salary cap, worked in the NFL, like FPTP the desire isn’t there like the big two political parties as it favours them.

I’d be all in favour of a salary cap, not just for the level playing field it would offer but to also stop the obscene upwards spiral of wages and milking of the fans. Matters not that their careers are potentially short, like someone else said on another thread, let them get another job like the rest of us would have to. Not overly optimistic it will ever come to fruition though.
Linked with 24 year old, Borussia Monchengladbach defender Julian Korb. He’s a right-back that can play right midfield.

Hang on, if Korb is a defender and Monchengladbach are at the bottom of the league, then I’d guess he has had a hand in letting the opposition score more goals than them…
Unless it’s everyone else’s fault.
