We had a brief interlude during the early part of the season when you were all sweetness and light. Of course that was when we were doing well…now we hit a downturn with a lot of injuries to key players again you turn into a Harpie old witch flapping around lashing out at anything that moves.

I think our manager is great, our first XI is pretty good bar the centreback situation and also the goalkeeping one, the board have always been useless since Leibherr sold the majority share.
That hasn’t changed one bit and it won’t.
I am in my 55th year of being a Saints fan and I can’t recall any owner being spendy. Why anyone would expect that to change anytime soon is beyond me. If you support the Saints all you can do is enjoy the good times and do your best to deal with the not so good times. Throwing your dummy out of the pram when things continue in the same way they always have done for an average club with no endless money pit to delve into is only going to damage your mental health, as it clearly has with Barry. As ever, hope for the best, but be ready for the worst.

So you don’t think that Verstergaard has had a good season so far? Stephens is a back up, yes? We haven’t seen Salisu play yet but you seem to have written him off as the club doing nothing.
Be fair, he did not know who Bertie was so don’t be too hard on him not understanding the centrebacks we have signed. Or knowing many of our players at all.

What’s wrong with the goalkeeping situation? McCarthy’s had a great season, recognized as one of the best in the Prem. OK, he made a bit of a misjudgement coming off his line last week, but he had two kids in front of him, he’s had Bertrand and KWP ever present there this season, the three of them clearly have a great understanding and he will have total confidence in them both, with two kids both making their first starts in those positions that wouldn’t be the case. I can’t recall too many other mistakes this season, in fact quite the opposite. Plenty of match winning saves and clean sheets. He’s a very decent keeper imo.

No idea how anyone can call our defenders shit. Ralf’s tactics ask a huge amount from them. They are positively encouraged to fuck around with the ball almost in their own area in order to stretch the opposition and for the vast majority of every game they manage this this almost flawlessly. Occasional mistakes are inevitable, and this is an accepted compromise of Ralf’s system.The press also puts them in a vulnerable position on the fast break. If they look shit at any point it’s because of the system saints play more than the ability of the players IMO.
