I may have found a flaw.
So LIV kicked off in England a set field of 56 players, all signed up.
All their tournaments are supposed to be the same format.
Yet they keep signing up more players.
So how do the youngsters get a game?
Are they now cast aside or will the fields get bigger.
Will they have to change their name to different Roman numerals?

I have a feeling tomorrow could be an earthquake day.
Keith Pelley needs money, sponsors and names to keep DP World running.
I think a lot has gone on, maybe talks with the Asian Tour, maybe letting banned ZPGA players in to the Rolex series.
It looks like a deal COULD strengthen his organisation.
Interesting times.

Oh, and LIV players can play in The Open next month

No matter what happens tomorrow Keith is a Dude.
Appointed in 2015, at the DP World Tour Championship he came onto the 1set Tee Box at silly o’clock to greet every player, and introduced himself to Bernard our legendary 1st Tee Marshall and me.
Following year ditto.
Except he came over and shook our hands and said Bernard, Philip, good to see you again and thankyou for your work, we appreciate it.
After that, every year, he came for a chat
In February 2018, the Regional Director of the Tour (Nick Tarrant) asked me if I had been accepted for the Ryder Cup…
I hadn’t, he walked straight over to Keith who simply said he would sort it. Later that morning I was given an email address of the Tournament Director, Amanda I sent the email, got confirmation 10 minutes later.

He is a good guy

Why would they have to change the Roman numerals? Isn’t that the number of holes played?

Yeah but maybe more players than 48 they have qualifying?
More holes?
Who knows?

I was sort of thinking the same the other day, they currently don’t have many tournaments so the players are going to get rusty etc. etc.

Also they limit the field to 48 players so all these players they are signing up aren’t going to play all the time.

I suppose it’s the same as getting splinters in your bum warming a PL subs bench.

The whole point of LIV was to shorten the game to make it more interesting to todays easily bored generation, there’d be no point in increasing the number of holes.

Lol.
Not unexpected seeing as it is a Co-sanctioned event with the PGA Tour

Read DeChambeau’s comments, he’s delusional, and I’d Koepka wanted more time off surely he doesn’t have to play all the tournaments?

LIV Golf: Brooks Koepka says he joined series for ā€˜more time off’ after injury-plagued years -

Its a time money thing - if he only played say a third of the tournaments on the PGA tour then he will earn a third of the money on average

Maybe @Polski_Filip can confirm, but I suspect to maintain your tour card you have to commit to x number of tournaments and maintain x number of ranking points - playing less tournaments will no doubt screw that

No idea about PGA but DPWT you needed 11 qualifying tournaments and top 60 in money list to get to Final Tournament DPWT.
Top 115 money earners I think keep their tour card plus those winning who get exemptions.

Clear as mud.
In US think it is top 150 in Fed Ex points keep cards (,plus exemptions) rest are relegated to Korn Ferry Tour.

Also would expect Sponsors have an influence. Number of tournaments to be seen at etc

Surprised some haven’t commented, they often provide way more money than you can earn Rory & Tiger with Nike back in the day were huge deals

Easy to have strong principles when Nike have slung $500m at you over the last 25 years
