Drank in there before and after February’s game. Good boozer.
Good keeper too. Cost us 2 points at St Mary’s. Could do worse than sign him for next season
That seems a widely held view.
But we shouldn’t forget Matheusz Liz
Did well in Turkey apparently…
But what is the standard of that league? Tall Paul scored a loads of goals in it.
Shhhhh…
Lots of my mates were in the 2200+ crowd last night & are still recovering today!
Playing away to Totton in the final on Monday, which I’m going to. My mate’s son scored their extra time winner.
They done it!

More on the big win yesterday
(It’s an almost Salisbury-esque result - 97th minute equaliser!)
On Thursday, May 2, Wisła Kraków players wrote another and what a beautiful chapter in the club’s history! After 120 minutes of fighting, Biała Gwiazda defeated Pogoń Szczecin 2:1 and became the winner of the Polish Cup!
Starting with a bang
The Wisła players were the first to kick the ball from the center and soon an exchange of blows began. The wingers created a big difference on both sides, time and time again arousing excitement among their fans. However, the most dangerous scoring situation in the first minutes resulted largely from chance - Alfaro’s cross was accidentally knocked down by one of the defenders, and the deflected ball left the field of play, hitting the outer part of the Port team’s post.
A quarter of an hour of play passed at an alarming rate. As predicted by most football experts, Kamil Grosicki was the standout figure in the Pogoń team. The Polish representative often changed his formation and actively looked for quick exchanges of passes with his teammates.
The White Star often tried to create a threat by making long passes towards the attackers. After one of such plays in the 30th minute, Angel Rodado made a good break. If it weren’t for the defeat in a running duel with one of the returning defenders, the Spanish striker would have had the opportunity to face the goalkeeper. Just 5 minutes later, Wahlqvist found himself on the other side of the pitch in similar circumstances. However, Chichkan was alert and knocked the ball away for a corner kick.
The best situation for the Krakow team to take the lead came in the 41st minute. The suspended cross to the far post went straight to the head of Szymon Sobczak, who directed the ball into the goal, but Cojocaru cleared it almost off the line at the last moment. The result was still tied. Both teams tried unsuccessfully to score the proverbial “locker room goal”. The minute added by referee Kwiatkowski turned out to be insufficient for this purpose and soon the whistle announced the break.
Changing sides
After changing sides, the players from Szczecin tried to impose their own rhythm of play. In the locker room, coach Gustafsson clearly encouraged his players to be bolder in attack. Wisła’s response in this regard was a compact defense and quick press moves. Kacper Duda did a good job of receiving in the midfield, often fueling the White Star’s offensive.
The situation on the pitch after an hour of the competition was difficult to clearly assess. Each of the finalists competed fiercely, but there were practically no opportunities to open the scoring. Thus, the first goal in this match was scored at the least expected moment. After a surprising throw-in, Koulouris appeared in front of the blue-white-red team’s goal. The Greek player’s strong shot found the net and from the 75th minute the Wisła players had to chase a one-goal loss.
In the 90th minute, the incredibly loud PGE National Stadium temporarily froze. The fans held their breath when the ball found the unattended Goku in the penalty area. The midfielder, introduced after losing a goal, had only Pogoń’s goalkeeper in his path, but somehow he instinctively saved his team from equalizing the score.
7 minutes later, in the last action before the final whistle, a story happened that cannot be described in any words. The ball was shot deep into the Portoccupiers’ penalty area and went to Eneko Satrustegui, who scored the desired goal to make it 1-1 and caused a frenzy of joy in the sectors occupied by the fans from Krakow! This meant that the fight for the Cup would last an additional half hour!
Continuation
The Wisła players started the extra period with a strong attack. Angel Rodado intercepted the pass, leading to a one-on-one situation once again. This time he was merciless and placed the ball in the corner of the net with an undefendable technical shot. What a change of scenario - from the 93rd minute, Wisła Kraków took the lead for the first time and at that moment they were one step closer to winning the trophy!
As could be expected - after the last half change in this match - the Port team started frantically chasing the result. The loss meant the end of their dreams of winning the Polish Cup for the first time in history. All forces on the pitch were moved to the goal of the Krakow team, and the players playing with the white star on their hearts were forced to maintain the highest concentration in the defensive third.
At the end of the finale it was difficult to keep up with what was happening before our eyes. Every single second was mercilessly long, but the dream came true and Wisła…. Wisła won the Polish Cup for the fifth time in history!

Yup, was a helluva party - National Holiday today - 2 Bank Holidays in 3 days! - Constitution Day - we stayed well clear
Looks like the skate’s celebrations according to the local radio coverage. You’d think they’ve just won the Champions League and not taken 12 years to get back for their solitary season in the Championship before plummeting back to League One.
Bit like Wisla…

Too late for Luton sadly. They lost one of their main strikers to injury for 3 months. He scored on his return last week, but they only have two games to go and much worse GD.
