For what it’s worth I think Ings will go. He is playing like he’s had his head turned.

We’ve been here too many times to ignore it. Looks a lot like the PEH situation and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it were the same club involved in tapping him up.

Possibility but then that would either mean Kane or Son are gone OR Ings is prepared to be on the bench, that would be a joke.

Exactly but as you said - money talks.

I suspect a lot of players believe in their ability and convince themselves that they can go somewhere and play. Even if everyone on the outside thinks they’ll be sat on the bench.

I would lose a lot of respect for him if he went there but he’ll convince himself he’ll play, pick up a whopper of a salary and either play champions league football or claim that he’ll be challenging for it.

Man City apparently linked as well.

Hope I’m wrong but as I said, we’ve been here too many times before.

We’re always here, we get punished for our success.

Fans swallow it.

Just say it as it is, a fix, its rigged, its bent, the only way to make football actually accessible is wage caps.
The NFL is a far far better model.

That players leave for Champions League football

What does Champions League get you?

Only a few have a chance of winning that as well, Spurs looked as if they were simply happy to be there the other year, same with Arsenal, City mentally aren’t there, only really Liverpool are good in Europe on the highest stage, he won’t go back there so its a load of old bollocks.

Offer enough a player will go anywhere and call it a “project”, just look at China.

snakebite and scampi fries??

What decade are you stuck in?

Where Barry lives, that’s the pinnacle of haute cuisine. :yum:

Haute Cuisine?

I dine at the London carriage works and the Art School…

You can readily find clones of both in most vaguely prosperous areas

Fixed.

Players like to test themselves at the top level. Apart from playing for your country, the top level is Champions League football. It really isn’t rocket science Barry but then you know that because players leave small clubs and medium sized clubs for the big clubs all the time. Would you stay at a mid table club when you had the opportunity to play for one of the big clubs? Of course you wouldn’t.
Fans moan when the players are rubbish and no one else wants them. Fans moan when their players are quality and the top clubs poach them. Then there is you who just moans at everything.

@Barry-Sanchez is the sort of bloke who’d land a nymphomaniac supermodel fuck buddy and moan that she only had one pair of tits.

Probably but if she had only one pair of tits I wouldn’t be wrong.

You still can’t bring yourself to say it’s all about money can you, you still hold a flame to the notion that footballers are still that boy playing down the field dreaming of wanting to play for their local team and whilst they’re dreaming their mother’s calls them on for homemade meat pie and their dad returns from a day down the pit…
What the fuck…

Where have I said that money doesn’t come into it? But do you really think Ings would move to Sheffield United for more money? Would he stay with us if we matched what Man City offered? With bigger clubs come bigger pay packets that’s obvious, but you are delusional if you think pro footballers don’t want to play at the highest level they can and win things.

To cut through all this back and forth rephrase the argument.

Would a player go to a champions league club for LESS money?

I suspect not.

However that scenario is obviously hypothetical / fanciful.

If only we had big spending rich owners like…
Oh.
Wait.
