Yes. The audio transcripts and the pictures she posted of her injuries are pretty damning. As you say he is clearly a thoroughly nasty bastard. From what I have read about the case the victim was on the receiving end of several hundred thousands of pounds of fancy lawyers fees to try and undermine her and destroy her credibility. At the end of the day unless one is prepared to believe that the girl beat herself up and inflicted these injuries on herself he is clearly a horrible, bullying cunt. Her father, upon listening to the audio recordings had to be restrained from hunting him down and administering his own justice. Can’t say that I blame him to be fair, if it was my daughter it would have been dealt with for sure.
I remember plenty of our managers saying the same thing, its just never given so much media attention. IMHO its the fact that anything said becomes national news that irritates, so over inflates the significance of it. ‘Manager defends player /team’ is all that this is about. Its the reader that adds all the other ‘victim’ nonsense.
I think you are deliberately misunderstanding my point, which i clearly paraphrased.
The red card should be rescinded because they were “punished enough”, despite winning the game.
Yes i agree it was a soft red, yes I agree previous Saints managers have appealled and denigrated red cards but the feeling that Liverpool are somehow so special that a player shouldn’t be suspended because they were punished enough during the game is laughable and so Klippety.
Mind you i think that if a player is sent off in the first leg of a 2 leg game the team should start the second leg with the same number of players as finished the first leg.!
Sorry Bob, could not be further from the truth no matter what some might wish to believe. I am an opinionated bastard and I do like to press for logical answers, but its not to ‘press buttons’ or troll.
But why do you make the connection to him thinking Liverpool are somehow special? He is merely making an appeal not that different to many I have heard. Its only the reader that is assuming he thinks Liverpool are somehow special… not Klopp. Plenty have used the 'double punishment line including our own managers, pundits etc… I think there is a bit of projection here, sort of confirmation bias - ‘we dont like liverpool so what he says must be because he somehow believes they are victims or special’?.. a neutral, would not read that into his statement, imho.
Aye, but come on, Do you really think Klopp believes Liverpool are some how a special case and deserve more lenient treatment, or is it just the usual manager bollocks trying to influence a decision as they all do? I think too many are a bit obsessed with this idea…
I don’t get his thinking in this case at all. It was a red card. It made no difference to the result. If he thinks the red card should be rescinded then he should say why.
It’s because in a few games time he’ll complain about another decision, then another one, and it will have a cumulative effect regardless of the rights or wrongs of his complaints.
I dont deny what you say, but my point was that imho he is not really that different from any other manager, hes just given (disproportionally more) much more air/media time so its more in your face… Then add in a bit of classic Scouse bashing…
OK I’ll bite by putting up the Klopp defence - things that are not splashed across the national headlines… starting with a trip to the Everton stadium site following the death of a worker there…
‘‘Jurgen Klopp took his Liverpool squad to lay flowers at the site near the River Mersey before their Premier League match with Bournemouth on Saturday.’’
