For the first time ever, Iâve bought a boxing event on PPV. What a bunch of piss-takers. Fifteen notes and still adverts all over the shop.
Should have just paid ÂŁ26 for sportsmania for 6 months.

Yeah, not really that impressive, I thought. Didnât seem to be making much of an impact on Mendy, and took far too many shots. Next up is Bellew.
Missed the Bellew fight as I was laughing at Leona Lewisâ new nose.
Easy win for Eubank.
Whatâs happened to the Sportsmania website?
Good win for Joshua.
Great night of fighting. Pap - I agree adds are a piss take, I usually press pause for the first hour or so, get the mates round, few drinks, pizza etc and watch from there. Skip through all the adds and froch talking about who he has âcobraâdâ and Haye trying to get a big payday.
Sleeping off an alcoholic fug meant I didnât see any of the fights.
But this is a thing of beauty.
Donât watch, Ted.
Itâs fucking brutal.
or here:
David Hayeâs comeback fight is to be shown live on Dave a week on Saturday at 9pm.
How the mighty big heads have fallen!
Hey Tokes - I finally got to see the Anthony Joshua fight over Christmas and was really impressed! He could go far. What do you reckon?*
*PS. Donât take this as a sign Iâm being friendly.
Not sure Lou.
It wasnât really an impressive performance and he/matchroom have kind of cornered themselves into a PPV position now.
He is very hyped and has a lot of punch power. He has done a great job at knocking out doormen so far. In the DW fight he let his emotions take over again and tried to blast him out first round. He was then sloppy, swung while dropping his guard and got smacked in the head for his trouble. TBH he was luck DW was still buzzed from the first round, pulled his shoulder and is very inexperinced or AJ could have been knocked out himself.
AJ is a very up and down fighter with little head movement. When he got hit in the 2nd, he then reverted to 0 head movement and still legs. He is also probably a little too big ala Bruno so will tire in fights. He would really struggle at the moment against someone who can actually box or move e.g. Fury but might be ok against a few bums (I hear Briggs might be up next) or even Wilder who is also all power and no movement.
Time will tell how he improves but he is young and still learning. Matchroom want to cash in on PPV so he will have to keep moving up levels and might get found out before he has matured properly as a boxer. Hopefully they take it slow, he finds a decent coach (not the olymipc guys he has stayed with who are still working with team GB this time for Rio) and he makes it to the top.

Interesting. Yes, by far not a perfect fight, but on the face of it, so much potential. Inevitably, heâs also very TV friendly and hopefully the hype isnât his ruin. Seemed a level lad though from what I saw.

Poor fight from poor fighters, Klitschko from being too old and Fury from simply being poor, he spoiled and won and his tactics worked. Wilder, Joshua and even Povotkin would smash these into oblivion.
Your boy Wilder on sky this weekend Barry (Haye on Dave at 9pm as well.
What is it you like about the true champ Wilder? I have a good look at his record:
Koâd out badly by an unknown LHW in amatuers
âALSO, koâd by a Polish Sausage in the amatuers
âSqueaked by with a bronze somehow in the Olympics
âPut down by morbidly obese Dustin âBig Wormâ Nichols with a âCheck-Jabâ
âPut down heavily and almost out by career loser Harold âHard Rocâ Sconiers
âBuilt much of his career by beating sad corpses like Harrison and Lyakovich
âBrought in personal friend Malik Scott to take an obvious dive
âDid not fight the real champ for his âtitleâ but a Don King manufactured Buffet champion
âKnocked down by 2 Wlad jabs and out with one medium left hook in sparring
âDestroyed and almost ktfoâd by Haye in sparring
âRocked heavily by a Firtha jab
âCould not defeat Stiverne as convincingly as Demetrice King
âCould not even knock Stiverne down like Rossy
âSome of the most shameful opponents for his âtitle defensesâ that the world has ever seen, showing his low self esteem
âRocked badly and almost out vs Molina (âDrummer Boyâ)
âHe did not perform as well agasint Molina as Arreola OR ASHANTI JORDAN, both of whom knocked him out in 1
David Haye knocks out De Mori in 45 seconds.
Just as well it wasnât ppv.
