🥊 The Boxing Thread

I see Tyson is causing a bit of a stink by suggesting that a “woman’s place is in the kitchen or on her back” amongst other things. Now a big petition to stop him being a contender on Sports personality of the year.

whilst his comments are stupid, his reaction to the fuss made me chuckle. Apparently his critics “can suck my balls” and the people who signed the petition are “50,000 wankers”. Nothing like continuing to dig when you are in a hole.

I suppose if you are going to incur the wrath of the public, then you may as well stoke the fires and go out all guns blazing. There is something quite entertaining about that. I skipped over some article about him and his views and he’s not going to be on Graham Norton’s christmas card list either.

Because people are experts in one field they think they are experts in all.

He must be a good boxer but his abilities as a human being are clearly still work in progress, and probably unlikely to improve.

Sure, talk yourself up and badmouth other fighters - but stop spouting stuff that would even make the producers of On The Buses wince.

Anyone know what Tyson Fury’s ring music was?

BTW if anyone is interested in boxing, you can’t beat ifl TV’s coverage on youtube. Much better than Skys and I pay for bloody sky.

Next one up Dec 12th @ the O2.

Is ring music a euphemism?

Good filling in for bear Beltch but it’s just not the same without his dumbness.

Seems Tyson Fury has been stripped by the IBf.

I think this is because Klitschko has exercised his option for a rematch. Glazkov is the mandatory (IBF) challenger but Fury is already contracted to fight Klitschko again.

It’s basically the IBF being a bunch of bellends.

And the media jumping on the ‘trash the upstart gypsy’ bandwagon.

Fury should fight Donald Trump for the World Bellend title, and then the winner could unify all the titles by taking on Katie Hopkins.

What goat boy said.

Am I even following you? I followed @GlasgowSaint but I don’t remember following you…

Yeah you follow me, I check dailly

With this IBF thing, it stinks. Glazkov is utter crap. I guess there is something behind it - they want to split the belts to make another big box office champ, Joshua or Jennings would be my guess. They want as many big fights as possible. The last thing they want in a unification killing off the division. Fury will fight Klitchko and the winner will fight and beat Wilder. There will still be one more champion out there to market though with this belt stripping.

Well that is a shame. Boxing set up/management stinks generally though, so I shouldn’t be surprised.

I’m sure it’ll be next on the hit list after IAAF, F1, IOC and FIFA

Tokyo-Fukwit, you inadvertently spelled my name incorrectly.

Sorry Beltch, predictive text on the iphone. Take it up with Bill Gates, nothing I can do. It’s man against machine here. You not seen terminator?

Anyone buying the PPV this weekend? Loads of moans about it but the card is pretty stacked and an excuse to have people over for beers, pizza and boxing.

Spilkva v Wilder just announced along with Chisora being on Saturday’s card.

Tony Bellew in the Liverpool Echo on Tyson Fury’s comments.

“I think it’s wrong. I think it’s disgraceful that people build the guy up to knock him down,” Bellew told the Press Association.

"He had these same comments 12 months ago. No-one cared. Why is everybody caring now? Because he beat Wladimir Klitschko?

"I don’t care what people think or what people say: he’s entitled to his opinion.

"I’m not saying everything he says is right. But what I am saying is he’s just beat the heavyweight champion of the world.

“Let him have his time, let him enjoy his moment, because 12 months ago no-one gave a shit about Tyson Fury.”

Bellew is fighting this weekend (and also every night in the cinema boxing world - he’s the main antagonist in Creed).
