Did you say cash is a thing of the past so sterling won’t matter or did SOG?

Just when I believe there is limited joy left in the world, you say stuff that just astounds me…and has laughing out loud… the level of your incomprehension has high comedy value, i’ll give you that, even if that was not your intent
How can you apply for independence and still be tied to the currency?
The Bank of England couldn’t stop Scotland using sterling but it’d be embarrassing saying you’re voting for control yet financially you’re still tied to London, and then you have to join the Euro which only 20% of Scots want to.
Not a good start is it?
Go and sit down, put a penguin on your head, you’ll be taken more seriously then…
Explain this.
And someone please admit to writing cash is on the way out so it doesn’t matter.
Tears of laughter at that!
This is genuinely the funniest thread in a long time.
How the fuck are you gonna stiff the taxman and underpay your Polish builders ???
Polish? Still use debit cards, cash is on the way out.
No one said that cash is a thing of the past. It is on its way out though. More and more transactions are carried out by card/electronically. I guess you are still bartering with gourds?
I think you’re missing the point, you use a debit card you don’t use cold hard cash, that is the point they are making.
Soon all transactions will be electronic, all hail the great reset…
That has nothing to do with trading and currency. What will large corps do, use pay pal and their debit cards?
That doesn’t make any difference, you’ll still a currency,
University education defo not wasted on you, skip
What a zinger!
How long was that in gestation?! A couple of decades, like Game of Thrones?
Well I guess they sit round a table and say we need a currency - let’s call it the jocko and then commission de la rue to print it
Set up a central bank to underwrite it and off they go
Won’t be the first time that’s happened
When cash goes what difference does it make if it’s a euro, a pound or a dollar? It is just a unit, nothing physical. Not a hard concept to grasp surely? Do you think that trade would be easier if everyone used the same currency?
The way you’re describing it it would be the first.
£€$. What difference do these squiggles mean to you? At the moment you will go and have to look at the exchange rates to work out what they mean today. Wouldn’t life and trade be so much easier with just one (or far fewer) currencies?
Are you for real?
Are you serious?
What is it backed up by?
Cashless doesn’t mean we wouldn’t have a Bank of England, interest rates, back up guarantees, cashless simply means our money in a system that can be accessed elsewhere, ours would be accessed and backed up in sterling.
What would Scotlands be?
I’ll make it easy, you could peg it to sterling but what guarantees do large corps have using it?
What about machines that use sterling, how much and how long would it take to reprogram them?
Fuck sake.
