Have they all got the painters in?
asking for a friend
This approach might provide the sensible answer to the entire debate. Everyone could fully accept that they really are women, but they’re just not allowed in women’s prisons. Or toilets. Or changing rooms, or all-female clubs or institutions, or anywhere else that’s exclusively meant for women only. Problem solved
Or athletic events.
Not sure if anyone else has been following the fallout of this but I reckon it’s long-term terminal for the SNP. I’ve watched quite a few videos on this over the last few days. Sturgeons are usually bottom feeders that live in estuaries . Nicola is all at sea.
What’s worse is that this specific situation was highlighted during the debate of the bill. People raised concerns about sentenced sex offenders getting gender recognition certificates after conviction.
An interesting article (for the BBC)
Surely its should be very simple… the law applies as per time of offence? If you were a ‘man’ when you raped, it should make fuck all difference what you identify as when convicted. Same as if you are a juvenile when the offence is committed you are tried as one.
If they’re transgender, it means they’ve always been what they claim to identify as. They were simply trapped in the wrong body, that doesn’t mean she wasn’t female when she raped those other women.
At least, that’s what we’re expected to believe.
She is so screwed
She refused to say three times if the rapist was a woman
If she says she is a woman and blocks her move to a female prison, then her legislation collapses around her ears because is opens the doors to excluding trans from other spaces
If she says she isnt a woman then her legislation collapses around her ears because she is refusing someone the right to self identify
Does she still have a cock?
if so she is still a man.
Not sure that would work. What happens if someone self-identifies as a woman, keeps all his bits, then commits a rape?
Does the law recognise the offender as female at the time of this hypothetical assault? If so, they would not be able to charge the individual with rape, as the legal system doesn’t even recognise that a woman rapist exists.
This is how fucked up and full of wholes the SNP’s thinking is on this. What they’ve managed to help encourage cannot be conceived by law.
It doesn’t have popular support in Scotland - quite the vehement opposition as it goes. I think this is the beginning of the end for wee Nicky.
Her bits, you idiot.
Sturgeon? I suspected as much.
Well, there has been more fun for the SNP in completely different policy areas.
First off, Nicola Sturgeon was squirming when asked about a £107k loan made by her husband, the chairman of the SNP, to the SNP.
Today, Novara Media were covering a story whereby it would appear that the SNP massively screwed up an auction for energy rights, actually enforcing a cap on what could be bid and perhaps leaving the Scottish budget under-funded to the tune of billions.
This is on top of the recently discussed story about the rapist in a women’s prison. Sturgeon is on record of saying that the prisoner is almost certainly faking the transition attempt.
The SNP has gotten pelters from all angles. They say Sturgeon is political Teflon, but I’ve had to replace a lot of Teflon pans after things got too hot.
You don’t like Sturgeon do you?
I think she and the SNP are selling the Scottish people a lie. I believe them when they say they want independence from Westminster. Fuck, most English people would like independence from those twats too.
They moan about their inability to change shit but all of the devolved Parliaments provide better representation than we get down here.
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I am a cynical man, @Cobham-Saint. I have a strong suspicion that a great deal of the reason this stuff is in the news now is CCHQ.
Ultimately, what I think of Sturgeon doesn’t matter. The Scots are independent on this matter
Her royal nippiness is resigning today
Guardian article here.
I wonder if the next General Election is still going to be a defacto referendum for independence.
I doubt it - The gender reform bill has killed that - too many MSPs and SNP MPs are nervously looking at the polls and realizing that they might have to work for a living if they pursue that course
Listening to various people phoning into Sky News. A lot of the SNP still don’t get why they’re here.
The Scottish independence campaign has already gained over two million supporters before it’s even officially started.
And that’s just from England.
