Some incredibly mixed feelings on this.

First off, thrilled that JC will have the chance to contest an election. There was a long time where many old Labour supporters didn’t think we’d even get that. Campaigning really does show off the best aspects of Corbyn and pals, as we saw during two leadership elections.

Those thrills have got to be tempered with the facts on the ground, the two year media campaign against the leader of the opposition that few had a bad word for beforehand, including huge attacks from his own party.

Really, any hope of a Corbyn victory comes down to changing minds and exit velocity. Beyond simple minded knuckle-draggers that seemingly forget that the Good Friday Agreement happened, or hardcore Blairites, I haven’t seen too many negative appraisals of him.

The Labour Party needs to bang the drum on its most popular policies, put Corbyn up there to argue for them, especially the stuff that sways potential Tories in key marginals.

That’s 98% of the electorate m8. Key demographic.

I’m more talking about the peeps that shout “Corbyn spoke to the IRA”, perhaps not realising that loads of British Prime Ministers did too

I suspect the main thrust of criticism towards the Labour Manifesto will be centred on how they will turn statements into strategy and how those policy strategies will be paid for. If he comes up trumps on this and he’s allowed to spell it out, he’ll do well.

Mmmm it is shocking news that Corbin was in the IRA but I guess this was just to get some Irish votes when times were hard. I think he does have some problems though, even diet Maggie should be able to smash him. I can see the lib dems with their also terrible god bothering leader doing a bit better this time. Has there ever been a time when the three main parties have all had such bad leaders? Serious, it is like Puel leaving and our short list of choices being Steve McClaren, Paul Ince and Dave Bassett. :frowning:

She’s done a u-turn on Brexit, a u-turn on the election. Her predecessor (a Lady known Not For Turning) will be spinning in her grave!!!

Will you do hairs on the balls and spunk coming out of the end or just keep it simple?

Well, it’s a general erection so I’ll most likely go with the hairs, balls and spunk.

Hell, it’s a special occasion so I might just crack on out on my ballot paper.

I thought you going to spoilt your ballot paper? This will surely be an improvement.

It’ll be that last “funny” item on the news at 10 (or whenever it’s on these day)

“Cobham man gives one in the eye to Theresa May”

I hope they try that, mainly because it can be bunged right back and then some.

Despite salami-slicing the welfare state, the Tories still managed to borrow more in five years than Labour managed in thirteen, with a lot less to show for it.

Looking forward to the door knocking, telephone ringing and campaigning in Carlisle… going to be hard work, but fun trying to win this election.

Alternatively it’s going to be weeks of having to listen to politicians talking bollocks and making promises they’ll never keep, ably abetted by party “volunteers”… I may just turn off the TV, ignore the media, pour boiling water on canvassers’ and get all my election news from Sotonians.com
