I guess I ought to clarify this… I found it bizarre that the Lazio Director’s comments regarding him moving to us came before their game last night, indicating that the move was well underway, yet he was still ‘risked’ via inclusion in the matchday squad. It also goes to show that all of the talk about it being a done deal on Friday night was somewhat premature.
So, bizarre from that sense but yes also rather refreshing to see that a player was still in the ‘right frame of mind’ to pull on his current club’s shirt if needed, despite being close to a move away for more money. You never know, if he turns out to be a gem then we may be able to expect a similar level of professionalism from him in say two years time!
