To be fair to the guy he did say he found it hard to believe. The Ings thing sounds much more likely though. If I were a Saints exec I think I would put some bogus stuff out there just to fuck with people.

Actually Soggy, read that ITK again he doesn’t mention Barkley - says CM last year of contract - which I think will be that lad from Celtic - Armstrong
We have form in doing the deal - letting them play in UCL qualifiers then bringing in.

Gazza’s a decent keeper that struggles with confidence issues caused by 1000s of ‘loyal’ Saints fans being on his back from minute one every time he plays. If every time you walked into work everyone was shouting “He’s going to fuck this presentation up, you watch” and “Haha, he can’t even make a cup of tea let alone fill in a spreadsheet”, you’d probably have a few dodgy moments too. Now multiply that but 1000.
He’s not a world beater, granted, but he’s better than the majority of Fiverweb mongs claim he is for sure.

We dont have to deal with Liverpool though do we? Surely that is what the agent is there for? We were in for Ings before he followed most of our old team up there so it wouldnt surprise me if we were after him. After his long lay off he would probably be relatively cheap too. Who knows? Its just another rumour to add the the stack of rumours we get every transfer window.

Think about it though… if we were to approach his agent before speaking to the club then I can imagine that they would petulantly report us to the league for tapping up. That would teach us wouldn’t it.
I can’t see it myself but I have been wrong before. I also don’t think we need that sort of player. We have goalscorers in Austin and Gabbiadini but our problem is behind them, and not being able to provide decent supply for them.
Redmond got one assist last season. One. I think Boufal got the same but played far fewer games. Tadic got 5 and JWP got 4.
I’m not going to pretend I know anything about this Armstrong bloke from Celtic but what sort of player is he? Holding midfield or a bit of a Steven Davis (of 2-3 seasons ago) mould? Can he shoot? If not, I’m not interested!

We are just as unlikely to get Barkley as we are Sigurosson. If Spuds have pulled out of negotiations its hard to see where Barkley would end up. West Ham perhaps? Not really a step up though. As for Ings, why swap one crock for another assuming he would be JRod’s replacement? Hopefully just a smoke screen for some under the radar signings.
