I can’t believe nobody’s mentioned this.

Episodes 1 & 2 of Shogun were superb TV.
Ep 3 is even better TV.
Sure there are better visual shows -Masters of the Air
Storylines - Halo/constellation

But in the way Dune 2 is a visual sensation Shogun is just

An epic story unfolding.

And my God Sir Richard Burton has been reincarnated

Full Swing
Netflix.
Damn they had an insane gift of content last season, LIV, Joel & JT falling apart and an unknown winning Majors for fun which they dealt with so well.
Then Ep 6 & 7 just drive home how utterly insane that a 24 handicap hacker got to go to Rome and have their 3rd once in a lifetime moment.

Besides that Mrs P_F loved it as well

Loudermilk, Netflix 3 seasons.
I know some of you watch this too. It’s a good watch, consistently funny but tonight season 2 Ep. 9 was laugh out loud funny. The Little Guys episode.
Thoroughly recommended.

Just finished The Gentlemen - Netflix 8 episodes.

Crime/drug caper based on the Guy Ritchie film of the same name so you’ll know what to expect

Ray Winstone playing Ray Winstone

Vinnie Jones playing a Zen gamekeeper- surprising good.

Worth a watch.

I’m 6 episodes in and enjoying it. A bit of a slow start I thought, but it’s really picked up. I agree, Vinnie is surprisingly good, as is Daniel Ings as the disinherited brother. Well worth a watch.

I hate period, costume, historical dramas.

OMFG
Shogun is simply exhilarating
Such attention to detail, stunningly acted, a storyline that has layers upon layers.
Cultural clashes, depth of Japanese tradition, domestic abuse and so much more.

An absolute gem.

It’s got a 9+ rating everywhere. I give it 11 out of 10

Background

Dublin Crust

Oirish getting the punk band back together for a reunion gig caper.

Pleasantly diverting.

HIGNFY last night.
Clearly been saving a lot up for tge 1st show of a new season.
Ian Hislop was on fine form & brutal

Wow.
I loved it when I understood half of it.
Now it’s

The Regime, available on NOW.

Kate Winslet in terrific form, delivering a witty, funny and all too convincing script alongside an excellent cast.

Episode 8 of Shogun was reading a lot of subtitles and no action.

It was absolutely gripping
