Great. Now, who has a Betamax player they can lend me?

I’ve got an Amstrad VHS with extended play. I have all of Live Aid on tape if anyone wants to relive an episode from their childhood.

Shock horror- I watched it today - Thursday :scream:

Good summary @pap

The the sleazy rotating bed, followed by Jimmy doing his morning combover is worthy of a mention…

You’re still not over it, are you?

I did actually see a Betamax in action as a kid. Shat all over VHS quality wise.

Betamax v VHS was decided by the porn industry wasn’t it.

Cheaper to mass produce videos on VHS than on betamax.

My first video recorder was a Sony Betamax top loader. Took two people to carry it :smile:

How many to carry your porn stash?

Was it this many?

I think that was c1980 when @scotty cleared out duplicate versions of his Adult Art movies.

It had a massive impact for days on UK freight availability for things like food and drink.

I have those ones you asked for, plain brown paper packaging as usual?

(that Wobbling Whoppers one is extra, very difficult to part with. But as you were so insistent I’ll stretch a point.)

No mention of the Philips laser disc?!

As often, Philips were first to market with many products (eg compact cassettes) but they were not always successful. The laser disc never caught on but led to CDs, developed jointly with Sony.

You are welcome :sunglasses:

The laser disc was hampered by it’s inability to record. Therefore no programme taping and no homemade scud, which combined to remove 90% of it’s most likely buyers.

It never stopped DVD in the early days. It’s still the most popular video format in the world.

So episode ten of Better Call Saul, season six, is now in the noggin. I don’t have to concern myself with @Cobham-Saint’s Friday fuckery today because I’m going to write a review which spoils noting in particular.

The end of this run has been quite remarkable. The stuff that we’ve already seen this year belies the slow pace that the series is often accused of (and I don’t mind one bit). Before this episode, we’ve had three episodes in a row where big things have been resolved.

It’s not letting up. Another big thing gets resolved this week, and after the very dark past few episodes, it was a delight to see a much lighter tone.

When most shows end, you kind of know how the final few episodes are doing to play out (perhaps not Dynasty) but after the wrapping up of Kim and Jimmy last week, I genuinely don’t know what to expect in these final three episodes.

While staying with Daughter they fired up Disney + to watch S2 of Only Murders in the Building.
I laughed.

So I’ve fired up dodgy links & resumed S1 which I did mention. Ep 1&2 were amusing when I watched ages ago. Rejoined Ep 3.
I laughed.
Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez & cameos.
Ep 3 Cameo was?
Sting.

It is 35 minutes of old skool comedy and something to watch with the other half.

Available on my DM dodgy site with VPN

This week’s episode was a delight and I have to agree with you about the remainder.

I’ll genuinely miss it all when it
comes to an end.

A complete cheesy action film - The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard (Netflix).

Potty-mouth comedy caper starring Ryan Reynolds, so you know what to expect.

Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman. Loads of other cameo appearances.

An easy watch.
