Give it a watch

Great nonsense film.
Think this was the sequel to The Hitmans Bodyguard or something

What Drives Us - Prime- documentary by Dave Grohl. Interviewing big bands about their early years on the road.

A few, I didn’t know that moments.

There are only two episodes of Better Caul Saul left. This week’s episode was titled ā€œBreaking Badā€ and features some scenes from the Breaking Bad timeline.

It’s another episode typically lacking the bombast of most of season six but is a fascinating and necessary part of this series. I have a better idea of where things might be going in the final two episodes.

Again, won’t spoil anything specific, but we don’t leave our lead in a happy place.

Actually the Breaking Bad episode that heralds the first appearance of Saul Goodman comes at Series 2 episode 8 and also coincides with my mates band in the soundtrack in this hilarious scene…

I’m thinking, should I watch this week or binge the last 3 episodes in one go - a BCS swan-song so to speak.

I want to, but I don’t :man_shrugging:t3:

Good luck avoiding so-called spoilers then

So I just watched the first 2 episodes of Stranger Things season 1. Lots of unexplained weird shit happens and I’m hanging on because I’ve seen a lot of people saying it is really good, including folk on here. When does it start getting good?

Maybe give it more than two episodes, but for what it’s worth, I found it very watchable but at the same time, felt as if all my 80s heart-strings were being tugged on. Felt a bit exploitative. I think the first series alone is a mixture of E.T, Poltergeist and The Goonies.

I have not seen beyond season two.

I think series 1 was the best, series 2 and 3 lost their way a bit and the final series was very self indulgent (around 90 mins per episode). Just my opinion though.

Stranger Things is epic.
Stay with it.
Even if only for the music

A great episode

I quite like ā€œslow tvā€

You gotta find Only Murders in this building
Pure slow old fashioned comedy who dunnit
Disney+ or dodgy stream.
It’s wonderfully slow as well

BUBA - German language comedy - small time con artist gets involved with fake Albanian mafia, a dysfunctional family life and worries about his Karma

Netflix

Actually worth sticking with. Can get it dubbed into Engerlander version but stick with the Deutsch ( with subtitles if you want them)

The Sandman adaptation is out on Netflix today. I will watch it with the missus later.

I would say that I’ve read the vast majority of things that Neil Gaiman has ever written. Most of his stuff is very samey, hero’s journey fish out of water bollocks, overcoming a world he or she does not understand, yadda yadda yadda.

Enjoyable enough and wonderfully implemented, but these are the same old roads we’ve walked with many an author.

Sandman is not like that. The protagonist is other-worldly to begin with. The comics did a great job of weaving reality into fiction (the sleeping sickness people experienced in the early 20th century). The stories were dark and horrible and wonderful. I still think it’s Gaiman’s best work.

Lost the link but read the story of how it took 30 years not to make it into a film & the woeful ideas scripts that were offered up.
Sounds worth watching but so much to still catch up on atm

I’ve twice had short stories in a Polish mag alongside short stories from Mr Gaiman. Got the mags contents pages signed by him when he was GoH at Eastercon some years back.

He’s from Portchester, I believe. He hasn’t done badly at all.

Apart from Sandman, I really like Neverwhere, even if it does do the Hero’s Journey template to a tee. The world of London Below is brilliantly inventive.

Event Horizon just popped up on Netflix- 1997

Spaceship disappears, reappears, people sent to investigate. Suspense and deaths occur etc. CGI was great at the time….

Watched in a cinema on a rainy morning in Manhattan (with cops as the only others also in the cinema, bunking off duty) while we were waiting for a bus back to JFK

Noteworthy to me only because me & Mrs C_S were on a last hurrah before kids started to arrive.

I’ve been a pauper since :lou_sad:
