Which is no bad thing imho

Small Apartments- Netflix - Matt Lucas and a pretty good ensemble cast of well known US names. Centers around getting rid of his dead landlord.

Some genuinely laugh out loud moments and some at the other end of the scale

Not going to be a classic comedy but diverting

Oooooo…Season 6 lands tomorrow 19th April…

Yeah, I’m going to be well into that.

Really don’t fancy Kim’s chances.

The first two episodes of Better Call Saul are now on Netflix and I have seen them both. I’ve missed this show between seasons and I’m going to miss it when it is done. It is far better than any spinoff deserves to be and wastes less time with weaker characters, such as the klepto sister-in-law from Breaking Bad, or indeed, a lot of Skylar.

It still maintains the ethos of looking visually splendid. The cinematography remains excellent, and where many other shows are just about putting as much frenetic action on screen, Better Caul Saul goes for shots that induce paranoia, make certain conversations secret or build a sense of dread.

I won’t spoil anything, but I enjoyed the first two episodes. It picks up straight after the end of the last season, picking up every thread.

I just hope the last couple of episodes are not Mike, Saul, Victor and Gus going on a boy’s trip to get botox together in time for Breaking Bad.

I’m amazed how much this hasn’t bothered me, same as skinny Pete and Jesse Plemons appearance in El Camino, I noticed the difference and then just got on with it.

Yeah, it’s not a bother for me really.

I do really notice jumps between seasons as a matter of course, such as when Skylar came back with a peanut allergy or when Tilly ballooned due to the consequences of cakes time travel.

I have watched Ep1 of BCS, loved it, and as you say picks up where it left off in every sense - just brilliant.

It has been a few days since this aired, so spoilers ahoy for Better Caul Saul.

There are some characters in this show that we know are safe, at least until they meet Walter White. There are others that we never see in Breaking Bad, with the sixth season having to explain why they are not about.

We got something of an escalation for one of these characters in episode 3. Ignacio ā€œNachoā€ Varga, an associate of the Salamanca clan but secretly under the employ of Gus Fring.

Nacho is a Better Call Saul favourite. While I would stop short of saying he has a heart of gold, he’s not a complete cunt (a high bar to clear in his firm) and has been motivated mostly out of a sense of selflessness for his old man, who doesn’t like this crime business one bit.

This week saw his last episode and it was as satisfying an end to a character’s arc that I have seen. Brilliant stuff. I hope the actor Michael Mando goes onto bigger things.

On other things, Ozark final season part 2 kicked off again two days ago. Am settling down to it post-dinner

Been a while.
In the sandpit we used to catch parts of various Masterchef seasons, always enjoyed it.
This year my back up provider has the latest series.
The home cooks are a different level now.
Really enjoying it & only a day or 3 behind

Still. I can assure everyone there will be none of that shit at the pre Brentford drinks meet up on Wednesday
We’re taking @Goatboy for proper scoff

4 days before the match, that’s some meet up…

Better Call Saul season six, episode four is in the brain bank. Spoilers ahoy.

It marks the directorial debut of Rhea Seehorn, who plays Kim Wexler. We get the first ever substantive conversation she has with Mike, although she remembers him during his time as a parking attendant at the courts.

Jimmy/Saul is getting ghosted by the entire Albuquerque legal profession on account of the rumour mill sending waves around about his protection of a murdering cartel associate. No-one can prove anything, but as one of his contemporaries points out, there’s proving and knowing. They know.

Sitting alone in the court canteen, Jimmy suddenly starts getting a series of phone calls from potential new clients. The rumour mill hasn’t just done the rounds in the legal profession; it has done the rounds in the criminal profession too.

It is a much quieter episode than last week, but no less impactful. This was the birth of Saul Goodman, criminal lawyer, with the emphasis on criminal.

Yep, Wendy is fuckin evil.

It’s the only show I’m watching. Might try to get back into Ozark.

Not sure where this is streaming but was talking TV with my boss on Friday and going into an impassioned sales pitch for Fargo Season 4. If you like gangster movies this is ten hours of it, covering a thirty year period and its consequences.

You lot won’t give a shit, but we used to enjoy watching American Idol in the sandpit (only version shown there)

Anyway I’ve been bingeing the latest season and something that certainly hasn’t happened before is that one of the kids (certainly not the most musically gifted) released an EP of his own songs…

And has hit #1 in the Pop Charts & #7 in the Billboard Top 100.

Very unusual and enjoying watching his journey tbh

(Note this was his rehersal as he got hit with a +ve Covid test & is in isolation.)
