Bosch: Legacy

New series, much of the same cast, same people behind the show, but Harry is now a Private I.

And so was the next

Not sure if I want to carry on with Breaking Bad (again) when this series is done.

Titus Welliver. Master of accents.

This week’s episode was good. I loved the fact we spent much of the episode watching Gus shit himself over the inevitability of Lalo Salamanca coming back. It just goes to show, there’s always somebody badder. I rather suspect his inevitable triumph will mirror Walt’s victory against him; he’ll use his brain.

The “Get Howard” plot continues to intrigue me. It’s a game of cat and mouse where you don’t know who knows what or how many steps ahead someone has planned. After the hilarious confrontation in the boxing gym, neither seem particularly arsed that Howard knows it was them, so is it all part of the plan?

And finally, the return of Lalo in secret agent mode, sniffing around Werner’s wife to get more information on the super-lab, the one piece of proof that Fring is working against Don Eladio’s cartel. Very tense final scene.

I can’t take Lalo Salamanca seriously when he looks like Steven Toast.

Now there’s Gus Fring’s old meth lab.

Now a Pret-a-Mangee-eer.

Anyone dipped a toe into this Netfilx series they’ve been pushing recently?

No.

For someone who watches everything, you’re sadly failing in your duty. :frowning:

The looming sense of dread looms larger in Better Caul Saul. A very decent episode this week, which spent a good deal of time giving us the basic mechanics of the “Get Howard” plot. We also get to see Kim Wexler in her pro bono capacity, getting a shot at having some decent money to put into this venture. It’s a fantastic opportunity for her that will set her up for a comfortable life doing something she believes in. All she has to do is turn up to a meeting in Santa Fe, the same day that the plan is supposed to go down.

It’s fine, until it isn’t and then we see Kim make a literal u-turn away from that good life she was heading to, back into town to save the grift before it collapses. Slipping Kimmy is now fully realised.

Next week’s episode is the last before a break and acts as the mid-season finale. I think we’re going to have a lot to ponder after the carnage of D-Day.

O Brother Where Art Thou - on Netflix

Directed by the Cohen brothers in the same vein as The Legend Of Buster Scruggs.

Cons on the run caper - George Clooney playing a surprisingly good lead

Absolutely cracking soundtrack

Good episode- seemed more or a scene setter for future episodes.

Most of the Cohen’s films are among my favourite films. There’s a couple I haven’t seen. There aren’t many I didn’t like.

No Country For Old Men?

That one and the black and white one with Billy Bob Thornton. Both proper downers. I know that they’re good films.

Fucksake, I picked that up the other day. That’s another quid down the drain. :rage::rage:
