Ironclad - On Prime

Magnificent 7 set in medieval times.

Loads of blood ‘n’ gore

Surprisingly watchable.

Finally getting into this Squid Game lark. Now I am a bit more travelled than your average UK TV viewer so many of the things that take place here are very reminiscent of things I’ve seen elsewhere and don’t quite pack the shock value.

With that cynicism in mind, I did spent a good part of the first episode wondering whether this was a Korean version of Stranger Things, at least in the sense it seemed to be playing with established components to make something else.

I feel Battle Royale in this, The Prisoner in this along with a bit of Cabin In The Woods. It’s all of that and to be fair, probably a bit more. It’s a powerful statement on human nature and the system of debt. Getting a solid two thumbs up on the basis of just two episodes.

Finished Squid Game in the early hours of this morning. It’s a great first season of television.

Now I challenge you to go and watch it back in Korean with English sub-titles…

Now I don’t normally get enthused about teen angst drama but I have quite enjoyed season 2 of Locke and Key

Parked on Prime.

Outsiders and their lives in Dublin

Colm Meaney. Very non Star Trek.

Sad but uplifting- worth a watch.

That’s not surprising. He seems to have spent his entire post Star Trek career trying to find roles which are the antithesis of it.

Fksake. He’s called O’Brien! Get it right

He’s not that ginger twat then?:flushed::smile:
To be fair, I only used to watch Star Trek for Marina Sirtis.:heart_eyes::drooling_face:

I did think that tbf

Cowboy Bebop - Netflix- space western bounty hunter live action of the original anime version apparently.

Violent and funny. Well cast and filmed.

Slammed by critics and geeks but I didn’t know about it until an hour or so ago, so fuck ‘em.

I think that, maybe, someone involved with Cowboy Bebop is a Star Trek fan…
