🖖 Star Trek returning to small screens :starfleet:

I watched loads of Lower Decks yesterday and am happy to proclaim that it’s not shit. It is in fact, pretty good and does a much better job of exploring strange new worlds than Strange New Worlds does.

Yes but they speak so fast in the future…

Very short Treks.
released in association and in the style of the Animated Series to celebrate its 50th Birthday

Ep 3

Getting to the end of S4 of Lower Decks and a lot of secrecy about the epusodes.

I can see why

Not gonna lie.

It made me Google and anything else is spoilers

You look just like Tom Paris…

And S4 is done, somehow Lower Decks is funny yet fills in pieces of canon or gaps in the back stories which also makes it serious Trek and entertaining.

It will be a long year or more until it returns, Hopefully S2 or Prodigy will fill the gaps when it his Netflix

Watching Prodigy. Yes, it’s made for kids but if I ever have grandkids they’re watching this.

It’s great Trek and it has that Hologram…

Not on my Netflix ffs

Hmmmmmmm.

Well, there is an alleged Picard movie in the works - but how can that be decades before Kelvin Kirk?

SNW gets a movie? The Michelle Yeoh film maybe?

I’ll stream it when I see it…

Star Trek : Carehome Academy

I think they were pushing their luck with the Picard series and that ended about as well as it could. Certainly a better ending for the characters than nemesis.

Anyway, I am back on the 90s Trek. I’ve been watching S2 of Deep Space Nine. People say that these series only get good in the third season but DS9 was good from the outset. I think its problem at the time was the stark contrast with TNG.

Once you know what DS9 is, and you’re happy with it, those early seasons are excellent. Simple character driven stuff but incredibly effective, even without everything fucking exploding every five seconds.

Science fiction or science fact?

Says nothing and quite a lot potentially… Starfleet Academy.
Reading between the lines, Discovery is done but created a future future.
Would make some sense to see the return of Tilley rebuilding Starfleet Academy considering there was very little left.

Could be wrong obv and while she was a great character and well acted I never “liked” Tilley.

One has to ask
Why

But :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::clap::clap::clap:

Or this

Quite a few “reveals” in this
Some SNW stuff - is that finally a Cetacean Ops centre?
Section 31 - Michelle Yeoh wants to do more, Rachel Garrett is brought back (who? Yeah - Enterprise - C Captain 19 years before Picard who time jumped into a TNG episode)
Movie status
And Starfleet Academy IS (as guessed) set in the 32nd Century - so seems to take over Discovery’s existence in the future and would free them from a lot of canon baggage
(I had to google what a YA Series was however)

She’s brilliant in The Brothers Sun

Discovery is back.
The episode has some flaws - spinning some stuff out too long but (unpopular opinion) it certainly is a heck of a lot more “SciFi ish” than what we have seen before.
Even some Star Wars vibes at one point.

It isn’t shit. The HD and lighting certainly make it feel NOT TNG era and then as the story unfolds you go find google and then you say - oh well, that’s cool.

My gripe is that even while deafening the household, I was finding some of the dialogue “not clear” and, tbh, some of the actual script in certain moments - you ain’t gonna be talking about that while shit is going down

Second best opening episode of any Disco series - (nothing beat Michelle Yeoh walking through the desert)

Wait.
WHAT?
