Now thatās a spoiler to intrigue @pap
And good spot amongst all the other gems!
Ffs.
Iām over 60 & a heavy smoker.
I need to be able to breath at least a few times during a 40 minute TV episode.
Picard Ep2
Iād check myself out in the mirror but itās too darkly to see.
Yep
Great episode.
Patrick Stewart is well over the hill tbf and doesnāt have to act as an old man. Still, it adds to the charm.
Itās lovely to see how he keeps getting whacked with questions he should be retired from.
His bemused look ad the I canāt be bothered ripostes just make the whle point of the story.
And the detail in every shot is insane, stuff from TOS, Voyager and more popping up in every shot
As much as Iām enjoying Disco, Iām getting more out of the time invested in Picard (& only x2 episodes so far)
Long Saints related phone call atm stopping me going to the Discoā¦
High praise indeed considering how good the latest Disco episode wasā¦
My only issue is that the Kurzman era has been all about needing a baddie (maybe his Hawaii 5-0 days influence that) The series would have worked just as well if not better without it
Iāve not watched it. I gave up on Discovery on episode two. Iām not watching Picard. Iāve probably got very different ideas about what constitutes good Trek, going by some of the accounts Iāve read here.
But you donāt know until you watch tbf though
Frankly, yes I do. I watched all of LOST remember. Same cunts spinning everyone along on Discovery and Picard.
Yeah, you should get a medal for that. Most of us gave up
Disco ep11 was the best Trek since Kirk met some flashing lights in TOS.
Pure Science shit. Superb
Then ruined (almost) by the bullshit baddie back story.
So understand that
Picard S1 was shit.
So far S2?
Brilliant
Sorry, but Iāve been burned by the ācrap or brilliantā scale before.
The entire premise that the possibly brilliant season two of Picard (just two episodes so far) is built on shit.
So forgive me if I think Star Trek by LOST writers aināt worth my time.
Still havenāt watched Picard and having heard about of the (ahem) āsubstanceā of the later episodes, not sure Iām going to.
From all accounts except on here, seems to have devolved into what Redlettermedia have called āStar Trek slopā; loads of bits of Trek you remember whacked into a blender and spun at such centrifugal forces that you donāt know quite which bit of prior Trek theyāre ripping off.
Oh thereās plenty, the best is the nod back to the DS9 game changing episode where Sisko was a Sci-Fi author in the 60ās - very small but it was there this week.
The writing is certainly better than the ponderous parts of Discovery, but that isnāt saying much.
