Cricket or wife?

That was a bloody good bowling performance today. Moeen in particular. i like the way the selectors are changing things for conditions and opposition.

Would be terrific to see our top order put a shift in tomorrow and really take the game away.

#103

We have been so formulaic, especially on the sun continent. Ed Smith deserves plaudits, Root also for opening with Curran not Leach & using the swinging ball to crack them open.

Now if our top order start being consistent we could have an epic or even epoch defining Test Team

#104

Yep, agree with all that.

I think, without meaning to, Cook was holding the top order back as we were looking for someone to bat with this legend of the game, when he was in obvious decline and our style had moved on. I’m quite hopeful that without him we might be able to find an opening partnership that at least holds its own.

Absolutely right about Curran. That seems like selector and captain in synch.

#105

Burns run out 60/1

#106

Good news. Ali avoided a King Pair, by scoring 3
72-2
200+ lead

#107

74-3
Root out for 3
213 ahead.
The collapse is on, but ball seems to be spinning a lot

#108

50 for Jennings.
Now needs to go big

#109

Just passed his 100

Stokes out earlier for 62 off of 93

Currently 235-4, lead by 374 runs

#110

they should declare - the biggest run chase on that ground is 99 apparently

#111

Buttler gone for 35, brilliant reflexive catch at silly point

258-5

Jennings on 119*

#112

England declare.

Root could’ve let Jennings go for 4 more runs to get his 150.

But what a smashing knock. Well played that fella.

#113

I wonder if any England Test Match has started with England using 4 different bowlers for the 1st 4 overs?

Light is not good so spinners are on

#114

#115

SL are 15/0 at Stumps Day 3
447 more runs in 2 full days to win then.

#116

Nurdling 1st hour.
Stokes dropped a tough catch at slip off Moeen.
1st over after drinks, Leach gets Silva plumb LBW 51/1

#117

Moeen takes wicket of other opener at 59.
Now 74-2

#118

98-3 at lunch

#119

98/3. Stokes hit gold with De Silva :grinning: with the last ball before lunch

#120

155-5

Getting there
