TBH, and I don’t disagree with you, Boycs played in the days when the mentality was “play for a draw”.
Completely different mentality now, however the players should learn when to employ a little restraint.
DRS showed he was hit outside of the line of the stumps so shouldn’t have been given out. England, however, had wasted their reviews.
