:pl: :saintsfc: Southampton v Man Utd :manunitedfc: (Live on :sky_logo: sports)

The Fantasy Football League skit from the shirt changing week.

It’s right at the start, so you can click off to avoid any unwanted Danny Baker, Michelle from EastEnders, or Susanne from Grange Hill.

I thought the Capri was cool at the time. One of our first family cars was a 3.0 litre Mark I. Black, and trimmed with the same sort of shit you saw on the Bandit’s Trans-Am.

Always knew when that car had arrived.

Because of that, I developed an interest in the Mark III’s, the Laser and the Injection.

In later life, I’ve reconsidered my opinion of the Capri. I’ve since learned that it was a castrated Mustang, and you really don’t see too many of them about anymore.

When I was a young scamp our next door neighbour had an orange Capri with a white roof, I thought it was the most amazing thing in the world, mainly because it kind of resembled the General Lee.

Because they rusted down to nothing

Same with all Ford cars of the era then. You don’t see many Granadas, or Sierras for that matter.

You used to run the gauntlet of buying a guaranteed rust bucket or a “Friday Special” which probably had the engine put in upside down and broke down as soon as it was delivered- The good old days…

Dagenham Dustbin is an apt moniker (yeah, yeah I know this was originally just for the Cortina but it soon migrated to the whole Ford family)

Not sure what they were called for you but the occasional immaculate Ford Escort can still be seen around my neck of the woods

Fair point but it doesn’t rain a lot in your neck of the woods does it?

Correct! Driest State in the Driest Continent.

Fun fact: The wettest continent is ‘incontinent’.

Technically incorrect driest continent is Antartica

I’ve got used to it, but the game preview in the guardian makes zero mention of Southampton.

I shall henceforth source my cars solely from Antarctica. :unamused::grin:

For the very same reason, I now turn the coverage on 1 minute before kickoff.
