VAR come on VAR he won the ball…this is a conspiracy.

No way was that a sending off, ridiculous decision, shouldn’t VAR be looking at that??

Oh good grief

Oh good grief
Unbelievable

Simply can’t believe that

And they’ll scire

Every opportunity to review that this is criminal.

I just don’t understand that decision, really do not…

Salisu on, Stephens moving to the middle of defence, Tella coming off…

There’s something corrupt here.

Oh for the days when you could run on the pitch and punch the ref. :rage:

They’re now saying the red was for denial of clear scoring opportunity. He was last man in on goal, so surely that would have been an automatic penalty?

‘Nasty tackle’

Southampton 0-0 Leicester

Karen Carney

Former Arsenal winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is a sloppy touch from Vestegaard. Jamie Vardy is always going to pounce. Vestergaard is late and rash. It was nasty. He got a nick on the ball but it was a nasty tackle onto Vardy’s ankle. He has been sent off and rightly so.

More than a nick on the ball I would say…

Plain and simple he won the ball…now you not allowed to win the ball against Leicester on the edge of the penalty area, you’re supposed to allow them a free run and a free shot.

I notice that Ralph very pointedly ignored Vest when he came off.

Let us not forget it was a VERY lazy mistake by Vestergaard that caused that mess

I see the ref having carried out his contractual obligation is now giving us a few complimentary free kicks.
How nice.

Indeed. I wasn’t surprised by it.

Any guesses as to what Prowsey said to the ref as they came off the pitch?:grin:

From bbc

The Premier League have confirmed with BBC Sport the red card was for denial of a goal scoring opportunity.

VAR confirmed the on-field decision after a standard check.

I’ve watched it several times. I really believe Vardy ran into Vestergaad’s boot. When the tackle was made he was in control. Played the ball cleanly. Then Vardy ran into his leg and fell over. The foot was not high in the act of making the tackle.
